As we inch our way closer to Christmas, I wanted to write a few more posts dedicated to gift ideas. I really enjoy writing these posts, so it is an easy way for me to create content during Blogmas.
For this post, I wanted to dedicate it to sewers. I am a sewer myself so I understand how hard it can be to find the right sewing oriented gift.
While working on this post, I realized I had so many ideas for gifts that I decided to split the ideas into two different posts. Look for part 2 coming soon!

The holiday season is known for many things, including giving gifts. For many people, this can be a challenge due to a lack of ideas for presents. Some of the people I sometimes hear are hard to buy for are artists, specifically those that draw or paint. I am an artist that draws, so I sometimes see why it is so hard to buy presents for us. Especially if the gift recipient is particular with their art supplies. Since I have been on both the giving and gifting sides, I wanted to share my favorite gift ideas for artists in a post. Everyone has heard of Valentine’s Day, but have you heard of Galentine’s Day? It is a non official holiday, celebrated on February 13th. It originally started as an episode of the TV series, Parks and Rec. The episode, called Galentine’s Day, is from season 2 and is the 16th episode in the series. Since the episode aired, the idea for a day to celebrate female friendships began to take off. This resulted in the unofficial holiday Galentine’s Day that we have today.
No matter if you are a fan of Parks and Rec or want to celebrate your female friends, February 13th is a great way to do it. Christmas is over and it’s almost the new year! I can’t believe how fast time has flown by. 2022 will be here before we know it! I know that I will be busy during this time of the year, so I decided publish a few posts I can write before this crazy time of the year. One of these posts is my 2021 birthday and Christmas self-gifted presents haul.
Every year, I find items I want for my birthday, but don’t want to ask others to buy for me. The reason why I don’t like asking for these items is for a variety of reasons, but it usually has to do with either my indecisiveness about if I actually want the item, the price is way too high for me to feel comfortable asking others to buy it for me, and/or it is a hard-to-find item. Whenever I find items I want but don’t like to ask others to buy for me, I usually buy them for myself.
This year, I had many music albums on my to-own list, but I was worried about the price and the availability of them. Also, I was unsure if I wanted to own the standard albums or the store exclusive versions of it. Because of this, I decided to do my own searching for the albums and see what I could find on my own. I was able to find three albums I wanted in versions I wanted to own. I still would like to purchase more store exclusive versions of two of the albums, but I’m happy to own the versions I purchased.

Recently, while shopping at a Walmart I don’t shop at normally, I decided to look at the Valentine’s Day section of the store. The store I was at that day is bigger than the one I normally shop at, so the Valentine’s Day section had more items than my normal Walmart. While looking at the heart shaped candy boxes, two of the candy box designs from Elmer Chocolate caught my eye because they look like they are inspired by notable luxury fashion designs and items.
The first box that caught my eye was this box…
The design on the box is inspired by Chanel Number 5 perfume bottle. I thought this design was super cute, but my favorite part of the picture is the 2 and 14 on the top of the label, (referencing the second month and the 14 day of the month, Valentine’s Day) in the style Chanel’s perfume is written.

The box has a monogram design inspired by Louis Vuitton’s multi color canvas design from 2004…
I love these candy boxes and I enjoyed seeing something that I recognize as being inspired by a luxury brand.

Because of the pandemic, I had time to read. Reading has become rare for me because I’m usually busy working or doing something else. Now that I’m stuck at home, I began to read and enjoy reading once again.
This renewed interest in reading has also made me focus on finding new books to add to my library. In 2020, the publication of many books was delayed, but many did get published. Since it’s the time of the year to give gifts, I wanted to list my five favorite fictional novels published in 2020 to give as gifts. I have yet to read all the books on this list, but I know these books are the most popular and are books I’m very excited to read. Because of this, I will not write a paragraph or two about why I like the books.

In November, while talking to my friends, they began to joke about all the weird things they asked for as presents over the years. I, of course, am no exception. In fact, the reason why this conversation started was because I asked for something odd for Christmas to make my life easier. As our joking continued, I began to realize all the weird things I asked for over the years for Christmas, specifically dealing with my main hobbies of sewing, knitting, crafting, and art.

If you knew me when I was growing up, you’d know I never made it a secret I wanted to travel when I grew up. When I became an adult, I was unable to travel due to health problems. Since then, I’ve healed a great deal and would like to travel, but I do not have everything I believe I will need to travel with. While searching for travel items in stores, I began to form a list of items I wish I would be given for Christmas, birthdays, or any other special time as a gift.
