2021 Birthday and Christmas Self Gifted Presents Part 3: Books

Well, this is the second-to-last post in my 2021 birthday and Christmas self-gifted presents posts! After shopping at stores, I began to find many books I wanted to purchase for myself. Even though I like to receive books as gifts, I almost always ask for coffee table books or art books from a certain TV series or movie. I don’t like to ask for novels as gifts because I don’t want to ask for a book, receive it as a gift, and, after reading it, I don’t like it.

During November and December, I purchased quite a few books for myself. Although I have yet to read all of these books, I wanted to talk about them in a post while I’m still excited about them. Continue reading “2021 Birthday and Christmas Self Gifted Presents Part 3: Books”

2021 Birthday and Christmas Self Gifted Presents Part 2: Makeup and Beauty

Continuing with yesterday’s post, I wanted to talk about what else I bought myself for my birthday, which was in November, and for Christmas this year. Even though I purchased myself a lot of gifts, I received many gifts as well. Even though I’m very grateful for my gifts and how thoughtful my family and friends are, I decided to not talk about those gifts online unless there is a good reason to. (Gift and haul posts are not one of those reasons)

All the items in this post are makeup and beauty related. I had my eye on these products for a while and, even though my family and friends would purchase them for me as gifts, they were so hard to come by they couldn’t find them in store or miss purchasing them online. When I found them available at stores I shop at (Which are too far away for my family and friends to frequently shop at), I purchased them for myself. My family and friends are sad I didn’t let them buy these products for me, but they understood I did it because I am worried about them traveling so far away from their home during the pandemic for makeup and beauty products as a gift.

2021 Birthday and Christmas Self Gifted Presents Part 1: Music

Christmas is over and it’s almost the new year! I can’t believe how fast time has flown by. 2022 will be here before we know it! I know that I will be busy during this time of the year, so I decided publish a few posts I can write before this crazy time of the year. One of these posts is my 2021 birthday and Christmas self-gifted presents haul.

Every year, I find items I want for my birthday, but don’t want to ask others to buy for me. The reason why I don’t like asking for these items is for a variety of reasons, but it usually has to do with either my indecisiveness about if I actually want the item, the price is way too high for me to feel comfortable asking others to buy it for me, and/or it is a hard-to-find item. Whenever I find items I want but don’t like to ask others to buy for me, I usually buy them for myself.

This year, I had many music albums on my to-own list, but I was worried about the price and the availability of them. Also, I was unsure if I wanted to own the standard albums or the store exclusive versions of it. Because of this, I decided to do my own searching for the albums and see what I could find on my own. I was able to find three albums I wanted in versions I wanted to own. I still would like to purchase more store exclusive versions of two of the albums, but I’m happy to own the versions I purchased.

Full-Length Nutcracker Performances That You Can Watch on YouTube Now- 2021

It’s the time of the year when ballets all over the world are performing the classic Christmas ballet, The Nutcracker. 2021 is the first year when audiences will be able to watch the performances in person after the start of the Corona/ Coivd-19 pandemic started in 2020. Even though many ballet companies are holding live performances of the ballet with live audiences, there are still many ballet companies that posted the full show of their Nutcracker performances on YouTube to watch. Here are my favorite versions of the ballet that can be see as of the publishing of this post.

Disclaimer: All the videos I will linking to and talking about are posted on official YouTube channels of the ballet company. If the links are broken, that mean the video was removed after I wrote this post. Continue reading “Full-Length Nutcracker Performances That You Can Watch on YouTube Now- 2021”

Movie Review: The Christmas Ornament (2013)

A few years ago, I purchased a four movie DVD set of Hallmark Christmas movies. I already watched these movies, but I decided to purchase the set anyway. The reason is because I wanted to keep a copy of each of the movies in a place where I knew I would spend a lot of time and would probably need a cheerful holiday movie to brighten my spirits. The four movie set was the most economical way to accomplish this.

Recently, I started going through the DVDs I kept in the area and rediscovered the DVD set. I was going through a very stressful time and began watching the movies in the set to cheer me up and give me some piece. One of the movies from the set is The Christmas Ornament. Bath and Body Works Vanilla Mocha Cream Fine Fragrance Mist Review

Even though I look forward to buying new Bath and Body Works products in the Christmas scents, I don’t always find new scents I really love and enjoy using past Christmas. This year, they released two scents that caught my eye. One of those scents is Vanilla Mocha Cream.

After failed attempts to buy fragrances I’m not familiar with in body washes and in other products, I decided to buy it as a fragrance mist.

Movie Review- The Most Wonderful Time of The Year (2008)

Earlier this year, I began to search through YouTube to see what new videos I could watch while I worked. After a while, I stumbled across the YouTube Movies channel. Although YouTube Movies have movies available for sale or rental, the channel also have movies to watch for free. There are movies of various kinds to watching, including family friendly movies and holiday movies from the Hallmark Channel. One of the holiday movies that I wanted to watch is The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.

Bath and Body Works Winterberry Wonderland Fine Fragrance Mist Review

When Bath and Body Works released their holiday collection, there were a few scents with berry scent notes that interested me. One of my favorites is Winterberry Wonderland.

After some consideration, I decided to purchase the fine fragrance mist because I believed it would be more useful to me than the body wash, lotion, or any other product in the scent.

Movie Review- Santa’s Boots (2018)

In a previous post, I reviewed a Lifetime Christmas movie, A Christmas in Tennessee, that I purchased as part of a two movie DVD set. After watching the movie, I watched the second movie in the set: Santa’s Boots.

Santa’s Boots stars Megan Hilty, Noah Mills, Roark Critchlow, Garry Chalk, Teryl Rothery, Patrica Issac, Andrea Brooks, Matt Hamilton, and June Squbb. The movie is about a woman named Holly (Hilty) who lives in Seattle and recently received a promotion at work. During her Christmas vacation, she returns to her home town and to see her family, who runs a department store. After visiting her friend, who works at the department store, she abruptly fills in as an elf at the store’s Santa area after discovering the only elf was sick. After working with the handsome and kindhearted Santa, whose name just so happens to be Nick, she begins to discover the department store is having financial trouble and is looking to sell to a larger company. Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy Tea Tree and Peppermint Body Wash Review

It’s getting closer to Christmas and, even though I have plenty of posts to publish before then, I wanted to write some additional posts about a few Bath and Body Works body wash and fragrance mists from their Christmas line. The semi-annual sale will happen after Christmas, so this is the time to write and publish review posts about the products before it will be too late.

For this post, I wanted to review the Tea Tree and Peppermint body Wash.
