2021 Birthday and Christmas Self Gifted Presents Part 1: Music
Christmas is over and it’s almost the new year! I can’t believe how fast time has flown by. 2022 will be here before we know it! I know that I will be busy during this time of the year, so I decided publish a few posts I can write before this crazy time of the year. One of these posts is my 2021 birthday and Christmas self-gifted presents haul.
Every year, I find items I want for my birthday, but don’t want to ask others to buy for me. The reason why I don’t like asking for these items is for a variety of reasons, but it usually has to do with either my indecisiveness about if I actually want the item, the price is way too high for me to feel comfortable asking others to buy it for me, and/or it is a hard-to-find item. Whenever I find items I want but don’t like to ask others to buy for me, I usually buy them for myself.
This year, I had many music albums on my to-own list, but I was worried about the price and the availability of them. Also, I was unsure if I wanted to own the standard albums or the store exclusive versions of it. Because of this, I decided to do my own searching for the albums and see what I could find on my own. I was able to find three albums I wanted in versions I wanted to own. I still would like to purchase more store exclusive versions of two of the albums, but I’m happy to own the versions I purchased.
The first album I purchased is vinyl version of All Over The World: The Very Best of Electric Light Orchestra….
I really like Electric Light Orchestra’s music and already own the CD version of this greatest hits album. I like the album so much, I decided to purchase a vinyl record version of it. Even though I wanted it, I didn’t want it badly enough to purchase it. During one of Walmart’s weekly Black Friday sales in November, I found the Walmart exclusive vinyl version of the album on sale for $15 USD. The price was great, and I didn’t want or need anything else from the sale, so I purchased it for myself.
The next album I purchased is the standard CD version of ABBA’s newest album, Voyager…
I was ecstatic ABBA released a new album so close to my birthday, but I couldn’t find the Target exclusive version, which has different cover art, of it. No matter how many times I looked, it was sold out. So, I tried to find the standard version of the album instead.
After failing many times, I almost gave up until the week of Thanksgiving. While shopping at Walmart, and searching for Adele’s newest album, I found a copy of Voyager. I’m still on the hunt for the album with the same cover as the CD I own as well as the Target exclusive CD and vinyl versions, but I’m happy to own the standard version of the album.
The last album I purchased is the Walmart exclusive vinyl version of Adele’s newest album, 30…
I really wanted to purchased the CD version of the album, but I couldn’t find it. While at Walmart, I found the vinyl version of the album, so I decided to purchase it instead. I plan on searching for the standard CD version of 30 as well as the Target exclusive CD with more songs than on the standard version. I don’t plan on shopping for those until after Christmas or even New Year’s. There is a chance I will receive one of the versions of the album as a gift, so I don’t want to make the giver upset because I purchased the album already. If I don’t get it for Christmas, then I’ll start to shop for it.
Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
