Favorite High End and Luxury Advent Calendars for 2022

This year’s economic problems has not been easy to shop for Christmas presents. I am no exception. Still, I really enjoyed browsing high priced advent calendars. Of course I can’t afford to purchase anything I look at, but I still wanted to see what kind of products a high priced advent calendar will come with.

After looking at so many advent calendars, I favored some more than others. Just for fun, I decided to write a post for Blooms showing my most favorite high end and luxury advent calendars for 2022. Continue reading “Favorite High End and Luxury Advent Calendars for 2022”

Walmart’s Luxury Inspired Heart Shaped Candy Boxes for Valentine’s Day 2021

Recently, while shopping at a Walmart I don’t shop at normally, I decided to look at the Valentine’s Day section of the store. The store I was at that day is bigger than the one I normally shop at, so the Valentine’s Day section had more items than my normal Walmart. While looking at the heart shaped candy boxes, two of the candy box designs from Elmer Chocolate caught my eye because they look like they are inspired by notable luxury fashion designs and items.

The first box that caught my eye was this box…

The design on the box is inspired by Chanel Number 5 perfume bottle. I thought this design was super cute, but my favorite part of the picture is the 2 and 14 on the top of the label, (referencing the second month and the 14 day of the month, Valentine’s Day) in the style Chanel’s perfume is written.

The second box that caught my eye was this box…

The box has a monogram design inspired by Louis Vuitton’s multi color canvas design from 2004…

I love these candy boxes and I enjoyed seeing something that I recognize as being inspired by a luxury brand.

Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!

Top 5 Favorite Dior Makeup and Beauty Products

It’s the time of the year to buy Christmas makeup gift sets and great excuse to buy makeup to try out. Buying myself makeup gift sets is how I discovered some of my favorite Dior Beauty products. Dior is, of course, not affordable for everyone and I need to be careful how many items I buy at one time so I won’t spend more money than I allow myself to. Despite this, I have some make up and beauty favorites that, if I need to replace it, I tend to look at those items first before I search for anything else from Dior.

Recently, while shopping recent makeup and beauty sales, I discovered some of my favorites on sale. Although I didn’t buy back up of them during the sales because I’m happy with the number of backups I have, I thought it may be fun to list my favorite makeup and beauty items from Dior. Although they are pricey, I am happy with the quality of the makeup and beauty items on my favorites list and I hope that, if anyone wants to try new make up, they could start with one of my favorites.

5 Halloween Costume Ideas from Popular Haute Couture Fashion

It’s finally October which means Halloween is coming! I love Halloween for many reasons (Haunted houses and being scared not two of them) but one of my favorite is because you can dress up in strange looking clothes and it’s not weird. In my opinion, some of the weirdest clothes come from haute couture, but some of the most beautiful as well. In light of this, I decided to share some looks from haute couture houses that I believe would also work for costume ideas.

Before I go into my ideas for costumes, some of the ideas are not readily available as-is and will require creativity and sewing to create. Also, I know full well that 2020 is a year when Halloween may not be as fun as previous years or allow for dressing up. I wrote this post in October 2019 and didn’t get around to publishing it until this year.

My Experience Ordering from Dior’s Website for the First Time

After a lot of thought, and searching Christian Dior’s website, I found the present I wanted to give myself as an indulgence for my recent positive health prognosis. Even though it will take a while before I’m completely recovered, I still wanted to treat myself. The problem was it’s Dior and it’s expensive. Although I couldn’t order a handbag or wallet like I originally planed, I did find something I’m very confident I will enjoy owning. It was my first time ordering from Dior’s website, so I wanted to talk about what it’s like ordering from Dior, how the shopping experience went, and what I think of ordering from Dior in general. Favorite Dior Dresses from the Fall/Winter 2020-2021 Haute Couture Collection

Dior released the video of their fall/winter 2020-2021 haute couture collection on July 6, 2020. The video, which can be seen on YouTube here, popped up on my YouTube recommendations the day before it premiered. When July 6, 2020 arrived, I sat down, watched it, and loved so many of the designs from the collection. I had a hard time picking out dresses I liked from Dior since Maria Grazia Chiuri took over as head designer. Although there are many designs I liked, I also felt like it wasn’t something I could wear with normal curves to my body. It was frustrating to see a fashion house I loved growing up but now as an adult can’t wear. But the 2020-2021 collection was an exception.

There are many dresses I would love to own, if I was going somewhere I needed to wear a formal dress, as well as an 1890’s style dress that makes my Steampunk side excited to see as “fashionable” in 2020. Because there are so many dresses I love, I wanted to feature my favorite dresses in this collection.

All the photographs in this post are from Vogue US’s coverage of the collection. You can see the coverage of the collection here.

Do You Need to Own Luxury Items To Be Considered Classy and Feminine?

For a few years, I’ve fallen down the dark hole of luxury YouTube videos. In the videos I normally watch, there are shopping trips to luxury brand boutiques, luxury hauls, and yearly collection videos. After watching them for a few years, I can honestly say that I cannot afford to buy enough luxury items yearly because I don’t make enough money. There were years when I did make enough money to buy them, but then I got sick and all the money I probably would’ve spent on luxury items went to doctor bills and other health related costs.

Because of the costs related to my illness, I began to look at luxury items in a different light. Back when I was a teenager there were luxury bags, accessories, and clothes I liked and would love to own, but couldn’t afford because… well… I was a teenager and I needed to go to college. Today, I still love those same items, and bought my favorites on the second hand market, but after all these years, and getting sick along the way, I began to realize as a teen I believed in order to be a classy, feminine lady of great importance you will need to own a wardrobe full of luxury brand named clothes, shoes, and accessories. Fighting the Temptation of Indulging and Spoiling Yourself After a Bad Season in Your Life

Recently, a thought hit me like a rock dropped on a foot. After years and years of thinking about buying myself luxury items, a nice home, a vehicle, and very nice clothes, I still am not financially able to purchase these things. My current shopping indulgences include books from Walmart, Target, and Amazon, DVDs and going to the movies (Before theaters closed due to Covid-19), and shopping at Bath and Body Works during semi annual sales. Instead of going on vacations to the beach somewhere, I instead spent my time going to local events that I could get to in an hour or less. Even though I would love to go on a shopping spree at a luxury brand boutique or rent a house next to the beach, I couldn’t because it was never in my budget.

Recently, my desire to push myself to shop for luxury items and make plans for a future vacation somewhere got worse. And I had no idea why. Then, it hit me. I wanted to treat (Actually more like indulge and spoil) myself for surviving my illness.

If you are new to my blog, I suffered from an antibiotic resistant infection for many years. In June 2018, I was given a clear bill of health but I still needed to see specialist because of complications associated with the infection. In June 2020, my complications improved so much I was told I could see normal doctors again, such as a primary care physician, instead of the specialists I saw for many years. The amount of money I needed to put towards my medical care dropped substantially and that gave me more money to spend as fun money instead of paying for medical bills.

Although I want to buy myself something special to celebrate the fact I survived being sick for so long and all the complications associated with the infection, I wanted to buy myself something from Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton, or a piece of jewelry that I will enjoy owning for years and years to come. The problem is after years of spending money on medical bills, I don’t have much of a savings, which makes affording anything directly from luxury brands such as the ones I previously mentioned impossible. I searched resellers for bags and jewelry in my price range, but thanks to price hikes by the brands due to worries about the current state of the economy, the demand for second hand luxury items is high… meaning there aren’t many items in my price range anymore.

Vacations are also out of the question because of Covid-19. Also, it is very uncertain when I could be able to travel, aside from road trips, because I’m still trying to get used to living my new, healthy life. So, a major trip by plane right now would be dumb at best.

But I still wanted to indulge myself with something special as a commemoration of this important part of my life. And it bothers me more than I’m willing to admit that I still don’t have the money to buy myself something I know I want and will enjoy.

After dwelling on the fact I can’t afford anything I want, nor should I travel anywhere for my personal health and safety, I realized something: I don’t need those things to make this important part of my life important. The reason why I wanted a luxury hand bag or jewelry was some sort of an object that I could associate with this time period for sentimental reasons. As for a vacation, I wanted to show myself that I’m now healthy enough to travel to distant places without needing to worry about my health the way I used to. I don’t need a vacation to prove I’m healthier than I used to be. All I need to do is think about all the things I accomplish in a day and I’ll know then I’m healthier than I used to be. As for a sentimental object, it’s hard for me to for an emotional attachment with an object without it being around when I needed comfort or some other reason why I need to use it. To just buy a Channel classic flap, Christian Dior Lady Dior, or Louis Vuitton’s Speedy 30 is not going to make me happy unless it has a special reason for being in my wardrobe. And as of right now, buying it as an indulgence for myself right now is not going to make me happy.

Although I like quality items and seeing new places and meeting new people, those items are not the kind of indulgence I want to have right now. Instead, I want something simpler. I already have an idea what I want to buy, but I know I will like it and enjoy it way more than anything I used to think I will enjoy buying, owning, or doing around this time of my life. Plus, it’s well within my budget.

Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
