imPRESS Holiday 2023 Acrylic Nails Collection

During a recent shopping trip to Walmart, I found  multiple holiday collections in the makeup section of the store. I was happy to see so many holiday collections available to purchase, so I browsed them all to see if there was anything I wanted from the store.

One of the collection I didn’t buy anything from but did enjoy looking at was the press on acrylic nails. I don’t wear acrylic nails (I use my hands too much for them to stay on and/or look nice) but I enjoy seeing the sets available to purchase. They give me ideas about what is popular in nail art at that time. One of the collections I saw and was very interested in was located on an end cap next to the nail section. It was called Glitz & Glam and featured collections from KISS Nails & Lashes as well as imPRESS and Sally Hansen nails. (I’m not sure if the Sally Hansen nail set was supposed to be there. I saw multiple nail sets that wandered from one section to another. Still, I’m going to address it as if the Sally Hansen Holiday 2023 nail collection was supposed to be there)

Since there were so many nail collections in the display, I decided to break up the posts into different brands. Today, I’m going to start with imPRESS.

5 Tips on Shabby Chic Christmas Decor

For the past few years, possibly more, it has become trendy to decorate for Christmas in a shabby chic style. I always loved shabby chic home decor. When I found this trend, I began to wonder how to buy this style of decor that would fit in with my own. Over the years, I developed some self made rules about what this trend looks like to me. This also helped me decide on what looked good with my already existing decor.

I don’t know of any official rules for this style of decor. So, I decided to write a post about my own tips for when buying this style of Christmas decor. Like with all decorations, there really isn’t any set rules. Still, I hope these five tips help anyone looking for ideas on how to find Christmas decor in a shabby chic style!

Thoughts on Being a Homebody This Christmas Season

Happy Blogmas 2023! I can’t believe it is December 1st already! I am happy to partake in Blogmas again this year!

For several months, I thought about what to write on this first day of Blogmas. I wanted to talk about something more personal and appropriate to start the first day of December. Sadly, things have just not been as holly jolly as I thought it would be.

In a post about Halloween, I talked about how I didn’t feel that joyful over Halloween this year. I also feel the same about the start of December. For some unknown reason, I’m also not excited about Christmas. All the normal things I want to do during Christmas time don’t interest me. Neither does going shopping for Christmas decor (Although I was excited about shopping, the feeling quickly faded) or seeing Christmas oriented movies. Even though Christmas does not bring me as much joy as it used to, I still find more joy and happiness in other things. Continue reading “Thoughts on Being a Homebody This Christmas Season”

Personal To-Do Goals for 2023

This time of year, people, including myself, reflect on the past year and what they did or didn’t do in hopes of looking forward to the new year when they can make changes to their lives. For 2023, I have no official resolutions, but I do have some personal goals I would like to accomplish for the year. Some of them are focused more on personal well being while others are things I do every year, but I wanted to write them down in this post.

Some of the Books I Want to Reread in 2023

As I look towards 2023, I realized there a things I want to do and see again. Some of these things include trips to places I began to miss visiting during the pandemic. Others are things I want to do because I enjoyed them that much.

One of the things is rereading certain books. I really enjoyed reading certain books so much I want to read them all over again. In 2023, I picked out a few titles that I want to read again. Unfortunately, my list is long, so I narrowed it down to six books to talk about in a post.

A Few of the Books I Want to Read in 2023

It’s almost the end of 2022. Amount the many things that happen this time of the year, one of the most annoying is my self loathing for not getting enough done by the end of the year. It is one of my worst traits and is something I always strive to improve not matter what time of they year it is. It seems to be especially worst near year’s end, probably because of amount of publicly acknowledgment of people’s regrets for the year.

Even though I can go on and on in a blog post about all the things I didn’t do throughout the year, I like to be optimistic. Especially online. So, instead I will be talking about one of the less important things I didn’t do this year: Read all books I wanted to read!

There are various reasons why I didn’t get around to reading these books, but it mostly has to do with lack of time. Even though I’m sure there will be many books in 2023 I would like to read, these books are on the top of my to-read list.

Things I Want to Do in 2023

As we inch ever closer to 2023, there is time to reflect on the past year and on our lives. For me, 2022 did not go as planned in any way, shape, or form. Even though it didn’t go as planned, there were many things that happened that made me realize there are things I wanted to do but won’t. In 2023, I would like to accomplish these things before the end of the year. Since the year is winding down, I picked five things I want to do in 2023 to talk about in a post for Blogmas. Book Review: Claris The Chicest Mouse in Paris: Holiday Heist by Megan Hess

Near the end of 2021, I found one of Megan Hess’ Clairs books went on sale on Amazon. It was reduced enough that I felt comfortable purchasing it. The book, called Claris, The Chicest Mouse in Paris Holiday Heist, is a Christmas book about an adventure Clair’s goes on during the holiday season in New York City. It looked super cute and, even though I don’t have children, I really enjoy owning children’s books with beautiful illustrations. Even though I purchased the book in the beginning of the year, I wanted to wait until Blogmas to publish a review post about it. Lenox 2022 Snow Fantasies Cross and Snowflake Ornament Review

This year, I restricted my Christmas decor as much as I could. Even though I like to buy my favorite Christmas decor every year and add it to my Christmas decoration collection, this year I didn’t find many items I wanted. Even though I didn’t find many items I wanted, I did find many ornaments I liked. I purchased quite a few of them this year, but they are mainly from Hallmark.

Even though Hallmark had plenty of ornaments I wanted, there weren’t many expensive and high end ornaments I wanted. I felt the ornament’s quality is not as nice as in previous years. I felt this way for all the ornaments except for a handful of ornements. After thinking about if I wanted them or not, I found two of the ornaments I liked from Lenox was on sale for a really good price. I decided to purchase them and add them to my collection. Book Review: A Quilt for Christmas: A Christmas Novella by Melody Carlson

A few months ago, while browsing for DVDs of Hallmark Christmas movies on Amazon, I got sidetracked and began to find many new Christmas themed books. Even though I wanted a DVD more than a book, I decided to preorder one of the new Christmas books instead. The book I decided to preorder is A Quilt for Christmas: A Christmas Novella by Melody Carlson.

Once it arrived in the mail, I sat down and began to read it. I really enjoyed it, so I decided to write a review post about it for Blogmas. Continue reading “Book Review: A Quilt for Christmas: A Christmas Novella by Melody Carlson”
