Elf x Makeup Revolution London Collection

In November, I discovered the Walmart I normally shop at had the Elf x Makeup Revolution London collection available. I was really surprised because I didn’t know the Walmart carried Makeup Revolution! Even though the collection was there, the whole entire collection wasn’t. Despite this, I liked what was available for purchase. I took photographs of the in store display and the products with the intention of checking to see what was available at Walmart and what I would need to shop for at a different store. (I was thinking of Ulta Beauty) Since the photographs have served their purpose, and it is the 20th anniversary of the movie, I decided to write a post about the collection that was there.

Trail of the Painted Horses Christmas Past Ornament Review

Many years ago, I fell in love with the Trail of the Painted Horses figurine collection. If you never heard about it, it is a figurine collection of horses. There are different designs released every year. Some are more commemorative while others are fun and whimsical. I really enjoy looking at what new designs come out, especially the Christmas themed ones.

This year, I decided to purchase an ornament instead of a figurine. I don’t have many Trail of the Painted Horses figurines or ornaments, but I really love the ones I own. When I found the Christmas Past ornament, I fell in love with it. I did debate about purchasing it (Not because I don’t like it. I just felt I purchased enough ornaments this year and didn’t want to purchase another one.) but I ultimately decided to purchase it anyway.

Swarovski 2023 Annual Star Christmas Ornament Review

Every year, I look for new ornaments to purchase and add to my Christmas decor collection. One of the brands I like to search for and purchase is Swarovski. Over the years, I purchased multiple collectable ornaments from Swarovski. This year, I really liked the style of their 2023 annual star ornament. I found one on sale earlier this year and purchased it.

Since I am doing Blogmas, I decided to write a review about the ornament I purchased. I never wrote a review post on this blog about the Swarovski ornaments I purchased in the past, so this is a first!

5 Tips on Purchasing a Currier & Ives Print From an Amateur Collector

In the well known Christmas song Sleigh Ride, there are lyrics in the song that goes…

“It will Be Like a Picture Print By Currier and Ives”

When I heard that part of the song when I was young, I decided that when I grow up, I would find my own Currier and Ives print to own. Now that I am an adult and search for a Currier and Ives print to own for many years, I realized there are a few things to know before searching for a print.

Even though I am not an expert in collecting vintage and antique prints, I wanted to share 5 tips for purchasing a print (Or lithograph) by this well known print company.

My Favorite Chain, Big Box, and Department Stores to Shop for Christmas Decor

Over the years, I have collected a large amount of Christmas decor. Even though I have a lot, my decor collection isn’t as large as others! In my eyes, I have a large collection. Especially ornaments.

Even though my Christmas decor collection is large, I still enjoy shopping for more. I don’t always buy more, but seeing what is new and trendy gives me ideas on what decor is in style or not. Sometimes, if I find something I like and can incorporate into my already existing decor, I will purchase it. Otherwise I still like to browse.

No matter if I am browsing or seriously shopping for something in particular, there are stores I turn to more than others to find Christmas decor. Where I shop depends on how far I will be traveling as some of my favorite stores are harder to get to than others.

As Christmas gets closer, I decided to compile a list of my favorite stores to shop for Christmas decor at. Some are big box stores while others are department stores. Some are known for crafts and DIY while others are well known on social media for their Christmas decor. Still, these are my favorite stores to shop.

Gift Ideas for Sewers- Part 2

In a previous post, I talked about gift ideas for sewers. While writing the post, I realized that I had a lot of gift ideas! Instead of including them in one large post, I decided to break them up into two different posts. You can read the first post here.

And now, here are more gift ideas for sewers!

Gift Ideas for Sewers- Part 1

As we inch our way closer to Christmas, I wanted to write a few more posts dedicated to gift ideas. I really enjoy writing these posts, so it is an easy way for me to create content during Blogmas.

For this post, I wanted to dedicate it to sewers. I am a sewer myself so I understand how hard it can be to find the right sewing oriented gift.

While working on this post, I realized I had so many ideas for gifts that I decided to split the ideas into two different posts. Look for part 2 coming soon!

And with that out of the way, here are the gift ideas for sewers!

Is There a Difference Between Hot Chocolate and Hot Cocoa? (Yes There Is!)

It is the season when people begin to consume all kinds of hot beverages, including hot chocolate and hot coco. I drink hot cocoa year round as an alternative to coffee, but for others they only drink it during the Christmas/Winter time. While doing research for a new hot coco recipe, I remembered I call hot cocoa hot chocolate. This isn’t right, but I’m someone who uses the names interchangeably for the same beverage: Hot cocoa!

If you are like me, then you probably want to know the difference between the two drinks. There are many posts online talking about the difference between the two drinks (Such as ) so this post is not really new, revolutionary news. Yet, it is truly important if you are looking for a recipe with certain ingredients in it.

Hot cocoa is made from cocoa powder. On the other hand, hot chocolate is made from an actual bar of chocolate. No matter which drink you want to make, both contain cocoa powder and also contain some sort of sugar. There are variations of both, cocoa for an example can have sugar infused with vanilla beans. Hot chocolate can be made with chocolate bars with flavors in it, such as peppermint. Yet, both need to be prepared different and stored differently.

Hot cocoa’s ingredients needs an air tight lid and stored away from any moisture. The bars of chocolate for hot chocolate needs to be stored somewhere cool so the bar won’t melt. As for the preparation, hot cocoa is easier to prepare than hot chocolate. Hot cocoa needs a warm liquid, such as milk or water heated in the microwave, to dissolve the power mixture in. As for Hot chocolate, the bar of chocolate needs to be melted and then stored into the warm milk or water.

Both drinks are great options for the holiday season. I prefer hot cocoa because of the ease of storing it (No refrigerator required!) and the ease of preparation. (Heat the milk, stir in the mix, then drink) I also prefer it over hot chocolate because many chocolate bars have ingredients that I am allergic to. Buying or creating a hot cocoa mix from scratch is the best way for me to avoid exposing myself to my allergens. Even though I’m a fan of hot cocoa, I do like hot chocolate. If I find a bar of chocolate without my allergens, I like to make it. To me, hot chocolate is always thicker and, depending on the chocolate bar I use, has better flavors than hot cocoa. Especially if I use a peppermint chocolate bar!

In closing, I always suggest anyone interested in drinking hot cocoa and hot chocolate, but don’t know which one they will enjoy more, to try both. Not everyone has the same allergens that I do (Thank goodness!) so someone may love hot chocolate more than cocoa. Just make sure you dedicate some time to make hot chocolate. It is easy to accedently make the chocolate burn, so take the time to do research before trying. Search for recipes and watch tutorials on how to melt chocolate properly. If you don’t have the time to research or actually make hot chocolate, then hot cocoa will be the best way to enjoy a warm, chocolate drink this winter holiday season!

Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!

Kiss Voguish and Gel Fantasy Holiday 2023 Acrylic Nails Collection

In yesterday’s post, I talked about the imPRESS holiday 2023 nail collection. I found the collection, along with the KISS holiday collection, in the same display at Walmart. After featuring the imPRESS nails in a different post, I decided to talk about the KISS nail collection in this post.

I saw a lot of imPRESS nail sets available, but I didn’t see many KISS. It seemed like many people really liked the KISS nails more than the imPRESS. Still, I was able to find three nails sets available.

6 Gift Ideas for Artists (Drawing and Painting Only)

The holiday season is known for many things, including giving gifts. For many people, this can be a challenge due to a lack of ideas for presents. Some of the people I sometimes hear are hard to buy for are artists, specifically those that draw or paint. I am an artist that draws, so I sometimes see why it is so hard to buy presents for us. Especially if the gift recipient is particular with their art supplies. Since I have been on both the giving and gifting sides, I wanted to share my favorite gift ideas for artists in a post. Please remember that all these ideas are general gift ideas and are not meant for anyone with a specific art style.
