Walmart 2024 Christmas Decor

This year, Walmart had some Christmas decor I really like. This year, I am more selective of what holiday decor I purchase. This decision was spurred by multiple decisions, one of them is due to inflation. Even though I’m selective of my purchases this year, I needed to replace several Christmas decorations in my collection. Since I liked the decorations at Walmart, I decided to purchase a few of the things I show in this post!

Trail of the Painted Horses Christmas Past Ornament Review

Many years ago, I fell in love with the Trail of the Painted Horses figurine collection. If you never heard about it, it is a figurine collection of horses. There are different designs released every year. Some are more commemorative while others are fun and whimsical. I really enjoy looking at what new designs come out, especially the Christmas themed ones.

This year, I decided to purchase an ornament instead of a figurine. I don’t have many Trail of the Painted Horses figurines or ornaments, but I really love the ones I own. When I found the Christmas Past ornament, I fell in love with it. I did debate about purchasing it (Not because I don’t like it. I just felt I purchased enough ornaments this year and didn’t want to purchase another one.) but I ultimately decided to purchase it anyway.

My Favorite Chain, Big Box, and Department Stores to Shop for Christmas Decor

Over the years, I have collected a large amount of Christmas decor. Even though I have a lot, my decor collection isn’t as large as others! In my eyes, I have a large collection. Especially ornaments.

Even though my Christmas decor collection is large, I still enjoy shopping for more. I don’t always buy more, but seeing what is new and trendy gives me ideas on what decor is in style or not. Sometimes, if I find something I like and can incorporate into my already existing decor, I will purchase it. Otherwise I still like to browse.

No matter if I am browsing or seriously shopping for something in particular, there are stores I turn to more than others to find Christmas decor. Where I shop depends on how far I will be traveling as some of my favorite stores are harder to get to than others.

As Christmas gets closer, I decided to compile a list of my favorite stores to shop for Christmas decor at. Some are big box stores while others are department stores. Some are known for crafts and DIY while others are well known on social media for their Christmas decor. Still, these are my favorite stores to shop.

5 Tips on Shabby Chic Christmas Decor

For the past few years, possibly more, it has become trendy to decorate for Christmas in a shabby chic style. I always loved shabby chic home decor. When I found this trend, I began to wonder how to buy this style of decor that would fit in with my own. Over the years, I developed some self made rules about what this trend looks like to me. This also helped me decide on what looked good with my already existing decor.

I don’t know of any official rules for this style of decor. So, I decided to write a post about my own tips for when buying this style of Christmas decor. Like with all decorations, there really isn’t any set rules. Still, I hope these five tips help anyone looking for ideas on how to find Christmas decor in a shabby chic style!

DIY Crafts I Want to Make for Next Year’s Christmas

As I write this, I don’t think I have as much free time to work on my sewing, crafting, and general DIY list. I used crafting and sewing as a way to relieve stress. Yet, right now I’m not able to work on everything I planned on! Since I don’t have the time to work on anything, I decided to buy the supplies for everything I wanted to make and make them over the course of the next year for Christmas.

Even though I like to write about what I make on a different blog, I am currently taking a break from it. When I return from my break in January, Christmas will be over. This makes writing a post about all my planned crafting and DIY projects I want to make for Christmas very odd! Instead, I decided to write the post here on this blog as part of Blogmas 2022! Searching, and Finding, a Replacement of One of the First Self-Purchased Christmas Tree Ornaments

When I was about 18 to 19 years old, I decided to buy myself really nice, high end ornaments. I didn’t think I would use them right away, but I assumed that it would be one of my only chances to buy them and not feel guilty about it. Also, the Great Recession was starting to take hold, so the quality, availability, and price point of these ornaments would change sooner rather than later. This is why buying these ornaments was so important to me.

One of the first ornaments I purchased is a Lenox ornament. Its official name is Star of Bethlehem and was released in 2007. I purchased it because the shape is very attractive. I also knew it had 24K gold on it, so it fit into the category of ornaments I wanted to purchase.

Over the years, it became one of my favorite ornaments. It fit into any style I used to decorate and I loved looking at it. Even though I loved it, it was broken by a relative I took care of for many years.

This year marks six years since the relative passed away. Since I don’t need to worry about them breaking things, I decided to search for a replacement. Yet, it wasn’t easy. Continue reading “Searching, and Finding, a Replacement of One of the First Self-Purchased Christmas Tree Ornaments”

5 Tips to Decide if You’ll Enjoy Trendy Christmas Décor 5 Or More Years Later

There are many trends stores and brands like to promote. One of these trends are for Christmas decorations. The influence is everywhere. It’s on social media, in grocery stores, and in the decorations used by shopping areas, cities and towns, and places of business. This is why it can be hard to be a savvy shopper with a desire to shop carefully and mindfully of their budget as well as what they may actually like to own and continue to use for many years to come.

Since it can be so hard to decided if you’ll like the trendy Christmas decorations if you are constantly encouraged to shop, I made up five questions I always ask myself before I purchase something that is a decoration trend for the year.

5 Tips for Buying Christmas Décor You’ll Enjoy for Years

Christmas décor is fun to shop for, but when it comes to purchasing them, it’s hard to justify the high prices for objects that will be used once a year. I struggled with this as a teenager and into my early 20’s, especially as Christmas decoration trends became more prominent on social media. Over time, I developed several tip that allow me to figure out if I will use the décor or if it is a trend I’m buying because I saw it too many times on social media. Bath and Body Works Semi Annual Sale 2020 Haul

I know the 2020 Bath and Body Works Semi Annual Sale ended last month, but I still wanted to write a post about everything I purchased at the sale. I didn’t go to the sale until a few days after it began. Even though I believed I would be able to buy all the body wash and wallflowers I wanted, this past sale was very popular and most of the items I wanted sold out before I went to the store. Even though I missed out on buying everything I wanted, I did find some things I wanted to buy and own. The things I purchased during my trip are different than what I would normally purchase, but I’m still happy with my haul. Continue reading “Bath and Body Works Semi Annual Sale 2020 Haul”
