A Few Thoughts on My Larger-Than-Expected Hallmark Christmas Movie DVD Collection

Recently, I began to sort through my DVDs collection. Overall, I am happy with my DVD collection, but there was one thing that surprised me about it: I have a lot of Hallmark Christmas movies on DVD!

I had no idea I collected that many over the years! There are well over 20 movies in my collection (I’m lowballing my estimate) and many of them I already watched. I also don’t want to get rid of them either.

Even though there are people who will say to get rid of them because I have too many, I won’t. I did get rid of a few, but I don’t want to get rid of most of them. After looking in awe and amazement over my large collection, I realized a few things about myself I didn’t think about. 5 New Movies I’d Like to See in Theaters- Summer 2023

The unofficial start to summer is a little over a week away. For me, one of the highlights of summertime is the new movies that are released in theaters. This year is the first year when people can attend movies theaters to watch movies that are available to watch in theaters only. For the past few years, movie goers could see the movies both in theaters and online streaming services.

Sadly, there aren’t many movies that peaked my interest this year. Still, there are five movies that caught my eye and makes me want to watch them. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to go to the theater and see them (Depends on several things, including work and my vehicle’s dependability) but if I can, here are the movies I want to see this summer. Movie Review: A Princess for Christmas (2011)

Every holiday season, I enjoy watching Hallmark Christmas movies. For anyone who read this blog for a while, this probably comes as no surprise. Even though I enjoy the new movies that are released every year, there are a handful of movies that I enjoy watching more than all the new and old movies Hallmark makes. One of these movies is A Princess for Christmas.

Thoughts On A Charlie Brown Christmas Not On TV This Year

Every Christmas, I always look forward to watching Christmas movies and TV specials. This year, one of my favorite Christmas specials will not be airing. The special, A Charlie Brown Christmas, as well it’s Halloween and Thanksgiving specials, did not/will not be airing on TV.

The reason is because Apple holds all copyrights to air the Peanuts specials. For the past two years, Apple aired the specials on PBS. This year, they will not be allowing the specials to be aired on TV at all. Instead, they can be found exclusively on Apple’s streaming service, Apple TV.

To be honest, I’m not happy about this. I heard about this prior to the pandemic in 2020, but it seemed like nobody cared like I hoped they would. Even though I didn’t say much if anything online, I felt really upset about it. I was happy when Apple decided to allow the specials to air on PBS. Now that they are no longer on the air, I’m now back to feeling upset.

To me, it feels like a loss of an important American Christmas tradition. I always looked forward to the special. When I was a child, I would get upset if I missed the show or someone interrupted me watching it. As I became an older child, I didn’t feel so upset about it, but I still looked forward to it. As an adult, I began to care for the special more than before. It was a way to subtlety resist and rebel against the urge to grow up too much too fast.

Now that the show is no longer airing on TV, I am upset. Yet, as the Christmas season moves forward, I feel more at peace about it. I’m still unhappy about it, but I am a peace because I own the DVD versions of the specials. I can watch them anytime I want, not matter what the season. If I miss the show too much, I can just watch the DVD. It’s not the same, but it is better than nothing.

Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!

TV Show Review: Reindeer in Here (2022)

On November 29, 2022, CBS aired Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Even though I owned the show on DVD, I watched this year’s broadcast due to an overwhelming need for Christmas nostalgic. After the show ended, a new, one hour show premiered on CBS. The show, called Reindeer in Here, was a new show for 2022. Since it was new, I decided to watch it. After watching it, I decided to write a review about it for Blogmas. Continue reading “TV Show Review: Reindeer in Here (2022)”

TV Show Review: Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (1964)

Every year for many decades, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer airs on TV. Since I was a little girl, I really enjoyed watching it. There were a few years when I didn’t want to watch it, but this year, I felt like I needed to watch it. On November 29, 2022, CBS aired the beloved Christmas special. Even though I own the show on DVD, I wanted to watch it on TV. I needed to watch it this way due to nostalgic reasons.

I wanted to write more posts about classic Christmas specials for Blogmas. Since I felt it was very important to watch Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer this year, I decided to write a review post this year. Continue reading “TV Show Review: Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (1964)”

MeTV’s Charles Shultz 100 Birthday Celebration & Two Peanuts Movies To Air

Well, it’s official. None of the best known Carlie Brown and the Peanuts Gang holiday specials will be airing on TV this year. Even though Halloween has already passed, there was no airing of It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. There will be no airing of A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving next week and there will be no airing of A Charlie Brown Christmas next month.

Three or so years ago, Apple acquired exclusive rights to the specials and all the Peanuts specials. For the past two years, Apple allowed the specials have aired on PBS stations. This year, they will not be airing on TV at all.

Even though this is sad for Peanuts fans, like myself, I still wanted to mention an over-the-air TV station that will air two Peanuts specials during the holiday season.

The TV station is MeTV and is an over-the-air TV station that can be view in most, if not all, parts of the United Sates. The station focuses mainly on broadcasting reruns of TV shows from the 1930’s to the 1990’s. In addition to the old, classic TV programs, they also have original shows that work well with their programing.

Recently, MeTV started advertising their holiday schedule. One of their ads caught my attention because it mentioned a Peanuts special would air on their station. After doing some research on their website, which lead me to a video announcement, I discovered it was true! They would air a Peanuts special. Except it isn’t a special. It is the first two full length films of Charlie Brown and the Peanuts Gang.

The films and their air times are as followed…

  • A Boy Named Charlie Brown- November 20th at 8PM/7PM Central
  • Snoopy, Come Home- November 27th at 8PM/7PM Central

MeTV is airing these specials as part of their celebration of Charles Schultz’s (The creator of the Peanuts comic) 100th birthday. Even though these movies are not the holiday specials, they will fill the void left from the absence of the holiday specials.

So, if you miss the holiday specials on TV like I do, please look into watching these two movies on MeTv! If you don’t know where to watch MeTV, pease look at MeTV’s website for how and where to watch it.

That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!

Colourpop x Disney’s Hocus Pocus 2 Collection at Ulta Beauty

After waiting for years, Disney has released a sequel to Hocus Pocus! My excitement for a new movie has been one of my highlights for fall 2022.

I knew there would be merchandise for Hocus Pocus 2, but the one I wanted to see the most is the Colourpop collaboration with Disney. I saw it available at Ulta Beauty in store earlier this month, so I decided to shop it and take a few photographs of it as well. Movies I’m Looking Forward to Watch During Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas 2022

It’s that time of the year when the Hallmark Channel will premiere their new Christmas romance movies! Some may not enjoy it, but I do. I don’t always get to see every single new movie, but I am excited to see what kind of movies Hallmark created for the new holiday season.

This year, the movies will start to premiere on Friday, October 21, 2022. From October 21st to December 18th, there will be one new movie premiere every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The only difference is on Thanksgiving week, when there will be a new movie premiere on on Thursday, November 24 AKA Thanksgiving. The Friday, Saturday, and Sunday after Thanksgiving will have two new movie premieres every day instead of one. A print off of the movie premiere schedule is available on the Hallmark Channel’s website.

I am very excited to see every new movie that premieres, but there are always movies that stand out to me more than others. I want to mention those movies in a post, in case anyone is wondering what kind of Hallmark movies I enjoy watching and will probably like. Not every movie will suit everyone’s taste, but I hope you find a movie on my list that you may enjoy as well!
