Sun Bum Sun Care Haul- June 2023

During a shopping trip to a grocery store I frequent, I discovered they sold Sun Bum products there. I wanted to try some different sunscreen products than the ones I already own and Sun Bum was one of the brands I wanted to try. After browsing the sun care area of the store, I settled on purchasing three Sun Bum sun care items. I debated if it would be worth mentioning these three products on my blog, but after using the sunscreen, I decided it would be worth it!

5 Favorite Summertime Treats

Summer, like the other three seasons of the year, have certain types of foods that are commonly associated with them. One of the most popular types of foods people associate with the summer season are the treats. Treats can mean different types of foods for different people, but to me it means deserts and other sweet foods. I have many treats I enjoy eating during this time of the year, some are better to eat than others. After thinking so much about what kinds of foods I would like to make for myself, I decided to write a post about five of my favorite summertime treats. These are also the treats I’m most excited to eat this year… if I can make them!

5 More Favorite Summer Foods

While I wrote a post about five of my favorite summer foods, I had to leave some of my favorite foods out. This made me sad because I really enjoy eating them and didn’t mind talking about them. Since I have so many foods I enjoy eating during the summertime, I decided to write another post!

5 Favorite Summer Foods

Whenever the summer season approaches, I start to change my diet. I know I feel better if I eat certain foods during certain times of the year. During the winter, I eat heavier foods. During the summer, I eat lighter foods. During the spring and fall, I transition between the two types of food.

Since it is summer, I have officially switched to eating as much lighter foods I can. Despite the lighter nature of the foods, they are still nutritious and filling. They just contain more ingredients that sit better on my stomach!

This year, I decided to share five of my favorite summer foods. Not everything is practical for everyone’s diet, but I enjoy them a lot. I have more favorite summer foods I enjoy and want to talk about, but I’ll save them for a future post! Continue reading “5 Favorite Summer Foods”

Thoughts on Being a Homebody During the Summertime

Summertime is always a great time to get out of the house and do something fun. In colder climates, it is the best time of the year to get out of the house and enjoy warmer temperatures. In warmer climates, such as where I live, it is not so fun. For the people who live in the area where I live, summertime, especially in June, it is the worse time to be outside. It is the time when temperatures will reach well over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. All kinds of problems can arise from being outside these types of temperatures including heat stroke.

This is why so many people like to travel. We like to travel to the mountains North of where I live. There is where the temperatures are cooler. Other favorite places to travel include California and Nevada. If you can’t travel, you need to work around these hot temperatures when you go out or just stay home.

This summer, it looks like I will be staying home. Again.

Memorial Day 2023 Sale Roundup

It’s Memorial Day weekend and for many people, that means it’s the time to sit by the pool, relax, and reflect on what Memorial Day actually means. For others, it is also a time to shop sales held during this holiday weekend.

This year, there are many, and I do mean many, stores that are having sales this Memorial Day weekend. If you want to shop this weekend, then this is the post for you! Since so many stores are having sales this weekend, I wanted to round up a mix of store sales in one post. I decided to mix my favorite stores that are having sales and ones people may not think about shopping at. I hope this gives many people looking for sales an idea of what is available this holiday weekend. Continue reading “Memorial Day 2023 Sale Roundup”

Some of My Summer Reading Plans for 2023

Well, I think it is official. This summer I will be a homebody. Actually, I shouldn’t say will be. Most likely and probably is more like it. There are several reasons why, but the main reasons include road construction in the area where I live and the hotter weather. Still, I am remaining optimistic about staying home this summer. One of them is that I have more time to read.

I have a very long and lengthy list of books I want to read this summer, but to be realistic, I won’t be able to finish everything on it. Instead, I want to focus on the books I want to read most of all. Even though I have a long reading list, I still want to write a post about some of the books I’m looking forward to reading the most.

My Summer Plans for 2023

Summer’s unofficial start is coming soon. For many people, it means it’s time to take advantage of this time of the year and do fun things. For me, I feel like my plans for this summer season are pretty flexible. I don’t have a lot of plans to do anything major or special, but if I see an opportunity to do something special, I will!

Even though my plans are pretty flexible, there are some major plans I want to do at least once this season. Some of them are things I want to continue after summertime begins while others are things that remind me summertimes, yet are more inexpensive than traveling.

5 Books To Enjoy During the End of Summer

It’s August, which means summer is coming to an end. For me, it is still summer by temperature standards, but the schools always start mid July to mid August. Since summer break is over for all the students, it means the time for summer fun is over. Despite this, I have come to realize how many people start school later than in Arizona and how summer is still going for them.

Since I have a different perspective of how summer looks and feels, I wanted to write a post dedicated to five books I feel like I can still read no matter if school is in session or what the outdoors temperature is. All the books on this list are newer books, which to me means they are ten to twenty years old or less. I still love them and usually associate them with the summertime. Just a Reminder to Drink Water This Summer!

I don’t know how many bloggers write a post about drinking water during the summer, but I thought I would take the chance to write one. These past few weeks have been hard on me due to a virus and other medical issues (Including a health problem I never talk about online) but what has been helping me get through them was drinking lots of water.

Drinking water will not help every single medical issue, but during the summer months it is extremely important to keep drinking water. Dehydration is no fun and can creep up on you if you’re not careful! So please make sure to drink plenty of water! According to an article on the Mayo Clinic’s website about the subject, eight glasses a day is a good goal to make for yourself or you can take listen to the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine who, according to the article, “determined that an adequate daily fluid intake is… about 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day for men (and) about 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women”. Also make sure to eat foods with water in them. That way you will not only get the nutrients from eating the food, but also water.

As I write this post, I’m feeling much better. I was starting to suffer from dehydration due to the fever I had from the virus. That, coupled with the fact I live in an arid climate that had a heat wave when I was sick, made it extra necessary to drink more water.

So, if you are going anywhere this week and want to maintain your health, please make sure to drink plenty of water. Also, if you are going anywhere hot, make sure the water is cold and please don’t go out when the temperature is at its hottest!

Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
