Book Review: What Happens After Midnight by K. L. Walther

When I read K. L. Walther’s novels for the first time, I felt very conflicted. The first novel I ever read by her was The Summer of Broken Rules. I wrote a review about the book here.

The Summer of Broken Rules was, and still is, a book I feel conflicted about. On the one hand, I like her writing style. On the other hand, I hated the amount of Taylor Swift references, which is what it is famous for. When I heard Walther wrote another novel, I was curious about it. I was hopeful I would enjoy this novel more and here writing style would shine through more. With this hope, I decided to read it.

Book Review: The Summer of Broken Rules by K. L. Walther

For many years, Booktok has been a major influence on which books become popular. A few years ago, I heard about a popular Booktok novel called The Summer of Broken Rules. It was written by K. L. Walther, who became extremely popular because of this book.

Back then, it was highly recommended by a YouTuber that I used to follow. I didn’t know at that time that the YouTuber was also a huge Taylor Swift fan and loved the book because of it’s ties to her. Today I don’t follow the YouTuber because of many reasons. One of the minor reasons is her incorporation of Swiftie references throughout her videos.

After reading the book, I felt very conflicted about how to talk about it online. This is why it’s taken me years to figure out what to say or if I should recommend reading it. Although I still feel very conflicted about how to talk about the book in a review post, I’m tired to stumbling across my book review post in my saved drafts files. So, I’m going to review it, no matter if I am sure about what to say or not.

A Post About a Favorite Book I Read in May/June 2023

It’s been a few months since I wrote a post dedicated to the books I read in the previous month. I didn’t have the time to read a lot these past few months. (Working too much and too many other things happening in my life) Even though I didn’t read as much as I planed, I was able to read. That was when I realized I didn’t actually like all the books I read!

For this post, I’m going to talk about the boos I actually like. There’s only one, but the one I like is the one I didn’t know I would like. I also haven’t finished reading the book because how busy I have been. Still, out of all the books I read the past few months, I like this book the most and want to talk about it.

Some of My Summer Reading Plans for 2023

Well, I think it is official. This summer I will be a homebody. Actually, I shouldn’t say will be. Most likely and probably is more like it. There are several reasons why, but the main reasons include road construction in the area where I live and the hotter weather. Still, I am remaining optimistic about staying home this summer. One of them is that I have more time to read.

I have a very long and lengthy list of books I want to read this summer, but to be realistic, I won’t be able to finish everything on it. Instead, I want to focus on the books I want to read most of all. Even though I have a long reading list, I still want to write a post about some of the books I’m looking forward to reading the most.

5 Books To Enjoy During the End of Summer

It’s August, which means summer is coming to an end. For me, it is still summer by temperature standards, but the schools always start mid July to mid August. Since summer break is over for all the students, it means the time for summer fun is over. Despite this, I have come to realize how many people start school later than in Arizona and how summer is still going for them.

Since I have a different perspective of how summer looks and feels, I wanted to write a post dedicated to five books I feel like I can still read no matter if school is in session or what the outdoors temperature is. All the books on this list are newer books, which to me means they are ten to twenty years old or less. I still love them and usually associate them with the summertime. Books I’m Looking Forward to Reading This Summer- 2022

It’s the last Friday of April and, even though there is another month until summer starts for me, I’m already making plans for the summer. One of those plans is to read. Over the past few months, I collected new books I want to read during the summer. I plan on starting to read the books next month, or this weekend, but I’m so excited to start reading them I wanted to talk about them in a post.

None of the books are new released for summer 2022, but they are young adult and romance novels that peeked my interest. Also, I have books in my collection that I didn’t finish but would like to during my summer reading spree. Finally, my reading list is long. Since I’m working in the summer and probably won’t have an actual summer vacation (Unless something pops up) I’m not sure how much energy and time I will have to read all the books on my list. I’m hopeful I’ll finish the books I already started and use my books as a way to give myself a vacation… even if I’m not going anywhere!
