5 Affordable Collectors Edition Book I Love

I love collecting books. I don’t always purchase expensive or rare books, but the books I purchase make me happy whenever I read them. Since I began to collect books to read and for reference, I realized there are many books available that are collectable. Some are advertised as collectable while others are not, yet become collectable over time.

I was recently browsing single versions of books I own in collective editions when I found many collectable editions of the books I was looking for. Discovering these collectable editions started to make me think about all the collectable editions I actually love to collect. Since I don’t talk much about collecting books on this blog, I decided to start by writing about my five favorite affordable collector’s editions. Some of the collections are not in print anymore but are still available for purchase for $50 USD or less. (Sometimes less than $30 USD)

Books I Want to Read in 2024

Since it is the last day of 2023, I decided to write a list of all the books I want to read in 2024. I did this in 2023, you can read that post here, but I didn’t actually finish the list! Instead, 2023 was a busy year for me. Sadly, whenever the year gets busy like it did in 2023, I don’t like to read. Instead, I like to watch TV or sleep… usually sleep! For 2024, I’m trying to make a list of the books I feel the most confident I will read before the end of the year. I feel like this list is a healthy list of books I feel very drawn to and books I want to read or reread in 2024. I hope in 2024 will provide me with more opportunities to read instead of just rest!

October 2023 Collective Book Haul Part 3

Well, this is the last post in the October 2023 haul posts! I planned on publishing this post prior to Thanksgiving, but those plans changed. Instead, I’m publishing it before December starts!

The books in this haul are either fall themed or are what I think of as potentially fall themed. They include four fall themed romance novels and one novelization of a medieval fantasy movie. Out of all the books I purchased in October, the books in this haul are some of my favorites. When I purchased these books, I felt worried and hesitant about purchasing them. Now that I owned them for over a month, I am very happy to own them. They are now some of my favorite fall themed books I own.

October 2023 Collective Book Haul Part 2

In October 2023, I purchased many books that are either fall themed or would be great for reading near Halloween. Since is was getting near Halloween, I really wanted to find some books that were spooky enough for my tastes.

After sorting through the books I purchased for collective haul posts, I decided to group four of the books into one post. All the books have either a plot that I personally would associate with Halloween or, in the case of on of the books, has a cover that is dark and fits in with the rest of the books in this part of my haul posts.

October 2023 Collective Book Haul Part 1

In my September collective book haul, I mentioned I decided not to buy many books at that time. In October, I went on a shopping spree for books! In fact, I was worried about the mount of books I purchased. Even though I purchased a lot of books, all the books are ones I considered purchasing for months if not over a year.

Since I purchased so many books in October, I decided to split the collective haul into three posts. This post has the most books in any of the posts. It also includes some books that I wanted that are fall or magic themed. I purchased them with the intention of reading them in October. As of this post, I

Collective Book Haul- August 2023

In August, with the seasons changing, I decided it was time to go book shopping again. Even though I had the best intentions to keep my book buying to a minimum, I still found many books to buy. This time, I purchased more than I thought I would. Way more.

By the end of the month, I had purchased ten new books! Most of the books had been ones I’ve been looking at for years, but never purchased. Others were newly published yet I seriously believed I would enjoy. Out of all the book hauls I wrote posts about, I am the most happiest with this one! All the books are ones I’m looking forward to reading, some of them again! I am happy to own all these books!

Collective Book Haul- July 2023

It has been a few weeks since I wrote a book haul post. Sadly, I was very busy these past few weeks, so I couldn’t write anything for a while! Now, I’m back with a new book haul post!

This haul is a July 2023 collective haul, which means all the books I purchased are from different places and from different times I shopped. In July, I decided to shop for summertime, beach read themed books. Specifically, the kind of books that are popular on TikTok. I found many of them on sale for less than I expected them to cost. I didn’t get to read them all before the end of summer, but I am happy that I own them and don’t need to search for them anymore.

The Annual Fall Reread of Fantasy Novels (And How This Became a Tradition for Me)

For the past few years, I’ve been watching aesthetic themed YouTube videos. To be honest, I really wanted to watch these YouTube videos in order to offset the crazy, not-so-cozy life I live. The escapism these videos have provided for me has been a great relief during some of the hardest and most stressful times of my adult life.

In these videos, they talk about a fall aesthetic book suggestions. When I was a child in the 1990’s, prior to the rise of the internet aesthetic, friends of mine would talk about fall being the perfect time to read certain books. I didn’t think about celebrating a season by reading specific books (Except for Christmas, Easter, and other Christian holidays), but it did peak my interest. So, I started to read the books they did. Now, I can’t see the fall and Halloween season without them.

Unlike many people I found online that make fall aesthetic book suggestions, my books are not exactly the same. Many of the books I read are fantasy novels. Not horror books. Fantasy novels. Some of the novels my friends suggested to me were the Lord of the Rings series and The Chronicles of Narnia. Other books were The Chronicles of Prydain, The Last Unicorn, and, if I could find it, the novelizations of Jim Henson’s Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal as well as the novelization of the movie Dragonheart.

A Post About a Favorite Book I Read in May/June 2023

It’s been a few months since I wrote a post dedicated to the books I read in the previous month. I didn’t have the time to read a lot these past few months. (Working too much and too many other things happening in my life) Even though I didn’t read as much as I planed, I was able to read. That was when I realized I didn’t actually like all the books I read!

For this post, I’m going to talk about the boos I actually like. There’s only one, but the one I like is the one I didn’t know I would like. I also haven’t finished reading the book because how busy I have been. Still, out of all the books I read the past few months, I like this book the most and want to talk about it.

February 2023 Book Haul

In February, I purchased several new books to add to my library. Even though I am happy with the books I purchased, I debated if I should purchase as many as I did. I have many books I need to start reading but haven’t. Now that it is March, I decided to take a break from purchasing books. This way, I will have time to read these books and enjoy them!

Even though I don’t want to purchase any new books this month, I wanted to write a haul post about five of the books I purchased in February. I purchased them from different places, but I am happy to have them in my collection. Continue reading “February 2023 Book Haul”
