October 2023 Collective Book Haul Part 2

In October 2023, I purchased many books that are either fall themed or would be great for reading near Halloween. Since is was getting near Halloween, I really wanted to find some books that were spooky enough for my tastes.

After sorting through the books I purchased for collective haul posts, I decided to group four of the books into one post. All the books have either a plot that I personally would associate with Halloween or, in the case of on of the books, has a cover that is dark and fits in with the rest of the books in this part of my haul posts.

The first book in this haul is The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins…

I already own two copies of this book (I talked about them in a post here) but I wanted to own a movie tie-in cover. I wanted it to go alongside my other Hunger Games movie tie-in books. In October, saw this copy for sale at Walmart. I was very happy to know I could purchase it in person instead of ordering it online. I’m happy to own this version of the book.

The next book in this haul is Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas…

I need to admit: I’m not a huge fan of The Nightmare Before Christmas. I never have been and I will probably never will be. Still, I have friends that are. Because of them, I always enjoy looking for anything TNBC themed for them. While at Walmart, I found this book for sale. It is a novelization of the movie. Even though I don’t like TNBC, I wondered if a novelization would be better for me. Sometimes, novels like this one aren’t that good, but sometimes they are. Either way, I purchased a copy for me to read.

The next book in this haul is From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout…

During a different Walmart shopping trip, I found From Blood and Ash. It is the first book in the Blood and Ash series. It was the last copy available at the store, so it peeked my interest. After reading the plot synopsis, I wondered if I should buy it. Still, I thought it could be a good book to read during the Halloween season, so I purchased the last copy at Walmart.

The next book is Court of the Vampire Queen by Katie Robert…

I found this book on Amazon last year. At that time, I didn’t know if I would like it. Still, I believe this book had potentially good plot. For a year, I stared at the book and debated if I should purchase it or not. In October, I finally decided to give it a chance and purchased a copy of it.

That’s all for now. Thank you for reading!
