October 2023 Collective Book Haul Part 1
In my September collective book haul, I mentioned I decided not to buy many books at that time. In October, I went on a shopping spree for books! In fact, I was worried about the mount of books I purchased. Even though I purchased a lot of books, all the books are ones I considered purchasing for months if not over a year.
Since I purchased so many books in October, I decided to split the collective haul into three posts. This post has the most books in any of the posts. It also includes some books that I wanted that are fall or magic themed. I purchased them with the intention of reading them in October. As of this post, I
The first book in this haul is It Had to Be Mason by Emily Lowry…
I’ve been thinking about purchasing this book for a few years. I liked it when I read it the first time, (It was a borrowed copy) but I felt like I own too many high school themed young adult romance books. Still, I couldn’t stop looking at it on Amazon. In October, I finally broke down and purchased a copy.
The next book in this haul is Maybe Meant to Be by K.L. Walther…
After the previous two K. L. Walther books, I felt indifferent about this book. Both previous books had Taylor Swift references throughout the books that I either didn’t understand or would’ve preferred to ignore. (I think I’m overwhelmed from all the Taylor Swift news for the past few years) Since there are many references to Taylor Swift, I didn’t think I would like to purchase this book. After thinking about it, I finally decided to give it a try anyway.
The next book in this haul is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho…
I remember reading this book years ago, but I read a borrowed copy. In September, I started to think about it again. I’m not sure why I started thinking about it again. It wasn’t my favorite book, but it wasn’t one of my all time favorite books I don’t own. Still, I decided that if I find a copy of it at Walmart, I’d buy it. Ironically, in October I found it for sale at Walmart. Since it was there, I bought it.
The next book in this haul is Much A’broom About Nothing by Erin Johnson…
I saw this book after doing random searches for books on Amazon. It is a paranormal cozy mystery that takes place at a renaissance festival. The book is about a former palates teacher that, while on a date to a renaissance festival, is accused of murder. In the process, she finds out she is a witch and begins a new career as an assistant broom maker. It didn’t sound like the kind of book I normally read, but I decided to give it a try. It is the only book in this haul I started to read. So far it is more light hearted and cute than I thought it would be. I don’t think it would be everyone’s taste, but so far I like it.
The last book in this haul is Enchanted to Meet You by Meg Cabot…
Ever since the release of the last book in the Princess Diaries series, I have a renewed interest in Meg Cabot books. When I saw this book, which involves magic and witches, it peeked my interest. Once it was released, I purchased a copy.
That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
