Collective Book Haul- July 2023
It has been a few weeks since I wrote a book haul post. Sadly, I was very busy these past few weeks, so I couldn’t write anything for a while! Now, I’m back with a new book haul post!
This haul is a July 2023 collective haul, which means all the books I purchased are from different places and from different times I shopped. In July, I decided to shop for summertime, beach read themed books. Specifically, the kind of books that are popular on TikTok. I found many of them on sale for less than I expected them to cost. I didn’t get to read them all before the end of summer, but I am happy that I own them and don’t need to search for them anymore.
The first book in the haul is The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid…
There are multiple books I feel conflicted about in this haul. This book is one of them. It is highly praised, yet the plot summary makes me think it is not the kind of book I would like to read. In July, I found it on sale for a good price, so I decided to buy a copy. I still am not sure if I will enjoy it, but I still want to give it a try.
The next book in this haul is The Royals Next Door by Karina Halle…
I saw this book multiple times and thought the plot sounded cute. I went back and forth about purchasing the book, but I didn’t decide to buy a copy until July. I haven’t read it yet, but I am looking forward to reading it!
The next two books are both by Carley Fortune. They are Every Summer After and Meet Me at the Lake…
Both books were books I was unsure about buying. The plots were interesting, but I didn’t know if I would like it. Even though I had reservations, I found these books on sale. Since they were on sale, I decided to buy both books anyway.
The next three books in this haul are Emily Henry. They are People We Meet on Vacation, Book Lovers, and Beach Read…
Just like the Carley Fortune books, I didn’t know if I would like these books. The plots sounded cute and they were highly reviewed. Yet, I didn’t think they would be the kind of books I would enjoy. When I found them on sale, I put my reservations aside and purchased them.
The last three books in this haul are by Sarah Adams. They are When in Rome, Practice Makes Perfect, and The Cheat Sheet…
Out of all the books on this list, these books where the ones I was the most unsure about. The plots sounded cute, but, after reading reviews and watching reviews on YouTube, I discovered at least one of the books is based off Taylor Swift and her life. To be honest, I’m sick and tired of reading romance novels based off Taylor Swift’s life. Sure, she has an interesting life that would be great inspiration for novels, but I’m just getting tired of them. This is why I didn’t know if I would like any of these books. Even though I may enjoy them, I don’t think I will enjoy reading them right now. So, I’m waiting until all the hoopla about Taylor calms down before I read them.
Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
