A List of Notable Fantasy Novels and Series to Read During Fall

Last year, I wrote a post in which I talked about reading fantasy novels during the fall. (You can read the post here.) This year, I felt inspired to talk more openly about fantasy novels I read.

I still consider August a summer month, but fall home decor, scented candles, and more are all around. Even if you are like me and hang onto summer until September, August is still a great month to search for new books to read as the weather gets cooler outside. Since I like to read fantasy novels in the fall, I decided to create a list of the noteworthy  novels and series I like the most.

Book Review- Young Queens Collection: A Most Mysterious Manor by Megan Hess

I really like to collect Megan Hess’ books, but my favorite books by her are her children’s books. I don’t have children, but I still enjoy buying children’s books whenever I find one I like. Usually I’m drawn to the illustrations. Sometimes it is the story. Still, I enjoy buying my favorites and adding them to my collection.

In the case of Megan Hess’ children’s books, I enjoy the art. I like the stories, but sometimes I don’t enjoy them as much as others. This is why when I discovered a new series by her, called Young Queens Collection, I felt unsure. Since it is a different series to her well known Claris, The Chicest Mouse in Paris collection, I didn’t know if I would like to start buying them and may enjoy them.

After a lot of consideration, I decided to give the series a try and decided to purchase and read the first book in the series: A Most Mysterious Manor.

Amazon Book Haul- June 2024

In June, I decided to shop on Amazon for more books to read. I purchased many books during the month of June. I couldn’t go on vacation this summer or go to the movies. So, it was either buy books and read them or watch boring TV for entertainment. I decided to buy books.

Out of the books I purchased, three of them are books I felt comfortable to talk about in a haul post. I picked these three books because I either talked about them in previous posts or already read them and feel comfortable to talk about them online.

Book Review: Grace Kelly The Illustrated World of a Fashion Icon by Megan Hess

I am a fan of Megan Hess’ art and her books. Even though I didn’t like all her books, there are many I really enjoy.

Two of the books I like a lot are The Illustrated World of a Fashion Icon series. The first book in the series is about Audrey Hepburn. The newest book in the series is about Grace Kelly.

The books are fun to read and are so beautiful. I wanted to share my thoughts about the books in book reviews. The first book I will be reviewing is about Grace Kelly. I will be reviewing the book about Audrey Hepburn in a future post.

January 2024 Grocery Store Book Haul

In January, I went on a shopping trip to a grocery store. This grocery store was not Walmart, which is where I like to purchase many groceries at. Instead, it is a smaller chain of grocery stores, but are more locally sourced and contain more foods without my food allergies.

During my shopping trip, I found a bin full of books for reduced prices. Since this grocery store is different than Walmart or Dollar Tree, I decided to have a look through the books available for purchase. Much to my surprise, I found five books I liked and wanted to buy! (Normally I don’t find any books to purchase!) After months of sitting on the photographs I took of my haul, I decided it was time to write a post about them!

January 2024 Book Haul- Part 3

Well, it’s time for the January 2024 final book haul post!

In this post, I purchased all the books from either Amazon.com, Walmart, or Dollar Tree. I really am happy I now own all these books, especially the Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream & Desert Book! I am interested in making ice cream from scratch, so to now own their recipe book has been the major highlight of my book shopping for the month of January.

January 2024 Book Haul- Part 2

In January, I went shopping for a lot of books. I am still surprised I found so many books to purchase! Since January, I was in a book shopping slump, so seeing this many books together in a book haul form still amazes me.

In retrospect of all the books in this haul, I can say I am happy I own some of them. As for others, I still feel conflicted to own and read. This is due to the fact I’m tired of books that are inspired by the same person, place, or thing. Even though I have opinions about one book in this haul, I will try to keep my current opinions about it out of this post and focus on explaining why I purchased the book in the first place.

All the books I purchased in this haul are from either Amazon.com or Walmart.

January 2024 Book Haul- Part 1

For the past few months, I’ve been very busy. Sadly, there are many blog posts that need to be written or finished that still have yet to be. For this reason, I decided to dedicate a post every week for as long as it will take to publish these unfinished posts!

One of these posts are about a series of book hauls. I really liked the books I purchased, but I felt embarrassed by the amount of books I purchased in one month’s time. This was also around the time I started to dedicate more time and energy to decluttering my things, including books. Because of this, I wanted to hold off writing book hauls posts just in case I decided to get rid of any of the books in this haul. For this haul, which is one of four haul posts I will be publishing this month, I decided to keep all the books in this haul. Even though they are new and some I don’t really enjoy as much as I thought I would, I still want to keep them for a little while longer in the event I change my mind about them.

5 Affordable Collectors Edition Book I Love

I love collecting books. I don’t always purchase expensive or rare books, but the books I purchase make me happy whenever I read them. Since I began to collect books to read and for reference, I realized there are many books available that are collectable. Some are advertised as collectable while others are not, yet become collectable over time.

I was recently browsing single versions of books I own in collective editions when I found many collectable editions of the books I was looking for. Discovering these collectable editions started to make me think about all the collectable editions I actually love to collect. Since I don’t talk much about collecting books on this blog, I decided to start by writing about my five favorite affordable collector’s editions. Some of the collections are not in print anymore but are still available for purchase for $50 USD or less. (Sometimes less than $30 USD)

June 2023 Collective Book Haul

It’s Wednesday, which means another collective book haul post. Today’s haul is from June 2023.

In June, I purchased a lot of books. My intention was to buy as many books I wanted (As long as they peeked my interest) so I can have something to do indoors during the summer. After looking through all the books I purchased, I didn’t like as many as I thought!

While preparing for this June book haul post, I decided to omit all the books I purchased that I didn’t like or probably won’t be interesting to read about in a post.
