Book Review- Sugary Girls: The Art of Eku Uekura (Japanese Edition) by Edu Uekura

For many years, I enjoyed collecting art books. I own art books from movies, artists, and other media. As someone who has always loved art, I loved collecting them.

Since the 2020 Covid pandemic, I have substantially slowed down in collecting art books. This is mostly because there isn’t very many new art books I wanted to collect. One of the new books that caught my eye was Sugary Girls, The Art of Eku Uekura. It is an art book of girls wearing clothing inspired by deserts by Japanese artist Eku Uekura. Even though I have owned this book for more than a year, I decided to write a post about it now. To be honest, the only reason why I didn’t talk about it is because I wanted to enjoy looking at it without worrying about thinking up what to say in a review post.

Book Review: Grace Kelly The Illustrated World of a Fashion Icon by Megan Hess

I am a fan of Megan Hess’ art and her books. Even though I didn’t like all her books, there are many I really enjoy.

Two of the books I like a lot are The Illustrated World of a Fashion Icon series. The first book in the series is about Audrey Hepburn. The newest book in the series is about Grace Kelly.

The books are fun to read and are so beautiful. I wanted to share my thoughts about the books in book reviews. The first book I will be reviewing is about Grace Kelly. I will be reviewing the book about Audrey Hepburn in a future post.

6 Tips on How to Start Collecting Coffee Table Books

Since I was a pre-teen, I collected coffee table books. When I started collecting them, people, including my parents, thought I was weird, but I loved them. The first coffee table books I owned are Lord of the Rings books that I’d ask for my birthday. Despite how odd my love of coffee table books was, I continue to buy them to this day.

Over time, I began to learn a few things about starting a collection of coffee table books. Right now I’m in the mindset of purchasing, or potentially purchasing, new books, so I decided to write a post dedicated to collecting coffee table books. Especially since they can be very expensive!

Book Review: New York Through a Fashion Eye by Megan Hess

I’ve been a fan of fashion illustrator Megan Hess for years. She became well known for illustrating Candice Bushnell’s New York Times number one selling book, Sex and the City, in 2008. Since then, she has had an illustrious career illustrating for the fashion industry and was commissioned by many fashion houses.  Over the years, she has released many books filled with her illustrations.

Over time I collected these books both because I love her art and I just love collecting coffee table books. Since starting this blog, I wanted to write a review about Megan Hess’ books, but I never got around to it. While looking through my books, I decided to finally write posts about her books. Book Review: Wicked: The Grimmerie, a Behind-the-Scenes Look at the Hit Broadway Musical

Many years ago, I was a huge fan of musicals. One of the musicals I was a huge fan of was Wicked. Back then Wicked was new and the only merchandise available where I lived was the soundtrack featuring the original Broadway cast and a book called Wicked: The Grimmerie, a Behind-the-Scenes Look at the Hit Broadway Musical.

Since Halloween is coming later on this month, I wanted to write some posts that are more Halloween themed. Unfortunately, I don’t have access to all the Halloween themed possessions. Instead, I decided to write a review about Wicked, The Grimmerie. After all, the musical is about witches, magic, and premiered on Broadway on October 30, 2003.

The Art of Star Wars The Madalorian Book First Impressions

A few months ago, I found The Art of Star Wars The Madalorian for sale at Walmart. I purchased nearly every single art book I own from Amazon because the prices are less than buying them in store. When I looked at The Madalorian art book, I realized the price of the book was similar to Amazon’s. Since the prices were similar, I decided to buy the book in store. That way I wouldn’t need to wait for it to come in the mail.

I have yet to read the book cover to cover, but I still wanted to write a first impressions post about The Art of Star Wars The Madalorian. I originally planed to publish this post on May 4th (Star Wars Day AKA May the 4th Be With You), but I was unable to finish writing it in time. Art, Fashion, and Sewing Books I Want to Own- March 2021

I recently began to clean out my books, dust them, and take innovatory of what books I own and which ones I don’t. After doing this, I realized there are a few sewing, art, and fashion books I would like to add to my library, including some newer releases and updated versions of books I already own. Although I probably won’t be able to buy all the books on my wish list, (Mostly because of the prices) I still wanted to write a post about a few of the books I would like to own.
