January 2024 Book Haul- Part 2
In January, I went shopping for a lot of books. I am still surprised I found so many books to purchase! Since January, I was in a book shopping slump, so seeing this many books together in a book haul form still amazes me.
In retrospect of all the books in this haul, I can say I am happy I own some of them. As for others, I still feel conflicted to own and read. This is due to the fact I’m tired of books that are inspired by the same person, place, or thing. Even though I have opinions about one book in this haul, I will try to keep my current opinions about it out of this post and focus on explaining why I purchased the book in the first place.
All the books I purchased in this haul are from either Amazon.com or Walmart.
Here are all the books in the haul…

The first book I purchased is The Last Phone Booth in Manhattan by Beth Merlin and Danielle Modafferi…

The premise sounded different, so I decided to purchase it.
The next book is The Breakup Tour by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka…

Let’s be honest, I am tired of all the inspired by Taylor Swift books available right now to read. I’m also tired of all the story variations of what did or didn’t happen to Taylor Swift. And I’m just tired of Taylor Swift. There are many things I’m glad became popular because of her (Such as crafts and baking) but I’m tired of all the books inspired by her.
This is why I feel conflicted about this book. On the one hand, I know I won’t like it. On the other hand, I like Emily and Austin’s writing and way of telling a story. Since they wrote this book, I decided to purchase it.
The next book is Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros…

At that time, I kept hearing lots of great things about this series. I found this copy of Iron Flame available at Walmart. Even though it is the second book in the series, and I haven’t read nor own the first book, I decided to buy it.
The last book in this haul is Holmes, Marple, & Poe by James Patterson and Brian Sitts…

This book was highly recommended by a friend of mine. I was surprised to find it for sale at Walmart. After reading the synopsis of the book, I liked the premise of it enough to purchase a copy of it.
That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
