Young Queens Collection: The Curious Crown by Megan Hess Book Review

Every year, I hear about all the Christmas themed books that people need to read. I personally don’t like to read Christmas themed novels near Christmas, but I love to read Christmas themed children’s book! I think it is a nostalgic thing, but as an adult and a fan of illustrations, I always love to look at the illustrations.

One of my favorite illustrators that are still publishing new books is Megan Hess. This year, she published another Christmas themed children’s book, bringing her total number of Christmas themed books to three. I already published a review post about the first book (You can read it here) but not for the second book. Since it is Blogmas, I decided to write a review post about Megan Hess’ second Christmas themed book, Young Queens Collection: The Curious Crown.

Swarovski 2017 Annual Star Christmas Ornament Feature

Last year, I decided to not purchase ornaments from Hallmark. I didn’t feel really inspired by the 2024 collection, so I decided to spend any allocated ornament money on other ornaments… or anything else I want/need to buy that year.

One of the ornaments I found was Swarovski’s 2017 Annual Star Christmas Ornament. Since it was 2024, I was able to find it for a really good price. I originally planned on writing an ornament feature post for last year’s Blogmas, but I didn’t have the time to photograph the ornament, edit the photos, and write the post in time. Since it’s Christmas time again, I decided to include the ornament feature post in this year’s Blogmas.

Christmas 2025 and My Ups and Downs With This Holiday Season

It’s December 1st, which means it’s time for Blogmas to begin on this blog. Sadly, this year I haven’t really been feeling excited about the holiday season.

This has been going on for several years, but this year has been the worst. Along with problems in the world (Economy, job security, ect.) I feel really irritated by the current holiday trends, the way people act around the holidays, and how hard it has become for me to celebrate the holidays in my old favorite ways. To be honest, I’ve been fluctuating between feeling so-so about everything to feeling complete rage about everything.

Yet, now that December has finally arrived, I feel… well… ok.

Wicked Part 1 Toys at Walmart

Every year, toy companies like to release their best toys around Christmas time. This is also the time when movies with a target audience for children and families are released, as well as toys tied in with the film.

This year, I saw a lot of merchandise for Wicked Part 1. It was released in theaters in November 2024. Before the movie was released, the tie in toys were released.

At my local Walmart, these toys were released and some sold out quickly. Others were probably delayed and showed up after Black Friday. I enjoyed looking at the toys, so here are some of the highlights of the Wicked Part 1 toys.

Favorite Walmart Christmas Ornaments for 2024

Every holiday season, I enjoy looking at the new ornaments. I do this partly because I enjoy looking at the new ornaments, the new holiday trends, and any potential replacements for my old ornaments if I need them.

This year, I found many pretty and cute ornaments at Walmart. I don’t always find nice ornaments at Walmart, but this year I found many! They include vintage inspired ornaments and glass ball ornaments.

Walmart’s The Nightmare Before Christmas 2024 Holiday Decor

For 2024, Walmart had a lot of holiday decor that was popular. Unfortunately, my Walmart, which is a smaller sized store, didn’t get very many decor that was popular. Instead, there were popular decor that was popular in the area where I live. One of those decorations was inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas.

The Nightmare Before Christmas and many Tim Burton directed films and TV shows are popular in my area. So is the merchandise inspired by them. This is why I wasn’t surprised when most of The Nightmare Before Christmas themed decorations sold out. There was a restock around late October, so there were items still for sale in December. Still, The Nightmare Before Christmas and items relating to it still remains to be very popular.

I was able to see the decorations in store before they began to sell out. Even though I do not share my area’s fandom for The Nightmare Before Christmas, I did find some items in the collection really cute.

Michael’s 2024 Sprinkle Shop Christmas Decor

This holiday season there have been many viral Christmas decorating trends. One of the trends I saw online was using decor from Michael’s stores.

This year, Michael’s had four themes for holiday decor. They are Sprinkle Shop, Gala, Holiday Pines, and Night Before Christmas. At my closest Michael’s, they had three of the four decoration themes. The only one that was missing was Holiday Pines. (I just wanted to mention I’m sad I didn’t get to see Holiday Pines in store! It had some pieces I was interested in browsing and potentially buying!) After browsing the collections multiple times during the holiday season, I realized I have my favorite themes. The theme I didn’t like out of all the collections was Sprinkle Shop.

Walmart’s Stitch Holiday Decor 2024

In a previous post, I talked about Walmart’s The Grinch holiday decorations. Along with The Grinch, the Walmart I normally shop at also had decorations inspired by two other popular animated movies. The one I liked a lot was the Stitch decor.

I like Disney’s Lilo and Stitch, but it isn’t my favorite Disney movie of all time. Still, I sometimes like to browse Stitch themed items just to see how they look. This year’s holiday decor was cute and I even found some decorations I seriously considered to purchase! (I decided not to due to reasons unrelated to if I like Stitch or not. One of the reasons is if I felt comfortable purchasing more holiday decor this year or not.)

Book Review: A Royal Christmas Wish by Lizzie Shane

A few years ago, I read A Royal Christmas Wish from Hallmark Publishing. At that time, there were many things happening so it took me a while to finish the book. Years later, I rediscovered the book and decided to reread it in order to see if I would like it more a second time. Last year, I reread it for Christmas but didn’t get to finish it until after Christmas ended. This year, I decided to finally publish the review post I wrote about it! Christmas 2024 is Looking Happier Than I Expected…

In a previous post, I talked about how this holiday season isn’t going as expected. Well, it still isn’t. Yet, there is something that happened that makes it better: My relative isn’t getting surgery this week!

I was told my relative will have surgery this week, but it turns out it is just an appointment. I’m pretty happy to know that my relative isn’t having surgery this, but I am pretty upset about the mistake. Especially since I included it in a post! I don’t like to write posts about my life online because it can change so quickly due to my job and other things that can happen on a day to day basis. This is why I don’t like to talk about my personal life in posts. This isn’t easy for me because I run a lifestyle blog, so it makes sense that I will talk about myself and my life. But this isn’t my life. It’s my relative’s life. That’s why I’m very upset about the mistake and writing about it in a post!

I feel both upset because of the fact I wrote this online thinking it is the truth, yet I am happy there won’t be any surgery until next year. Christmas 2024 still isn’t the perfect holiday it could be though. There are still plenty of things that make me upset and sad this year. That’s why I’m taking the fact that there won’t be a surgery before Christmas and giving thanks for the happy blessing that it is.

That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
