My Favorite Songs from Soundtracks- Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles Future Soundscapes I

While working on posts for this blog, I rediscovered my love for certain songs from movie, TV show, and other soundtracks. Listening to them brings me joy, so in the spirit of sharing my love of music, I decided to write a series of posts sharing my favorite songs from certain soundtracks and why I love them so much. I hope to write posts about whole entire soundtracks, but I’m unable to do that right now. So, for now, I’ll share my favorite songs from certain soundtracks.

The first soundtrack I wanted to share the songs from is Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles. It is an anime about a princess named Tsubasa who looses her memories. She and her best friend from childhood, Syaoran, must travel through space and time to find these memories, which are manifested in a feather with special powers. Along the way, they meet and join forces with Fai D. Flourite and Kurogane, who help them find feathers. In addition to them, they also encounter other characters from previous and then current stories by the manga artist group Clamp, who created Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles.

Although the story is very complicated (Think of the Marvel Cinematic Universe crossovers and intertwined story lines except for anime and manga), there is one thing that non anime fans and anyone uninterested in watching the story will enjoy: The soundtrack.

There are multiple soundtracks uses in the anime series, but the one I wanted to talk about in this post is called Future Soundscapes I. Future Soundscapes I is written by Yuki Kajiura, who wrote both the music and lyrics to the songs on the album, except for the songs Blaze and Loop. The album contains the music used in the first season of the anime. Included on the album are the songs Blaze and Loop, which were the opening song and ending song respectively. The Art of Star Wars The Madalorian Book First Impressions

A few months ago, I found The Art of Star Wars The Madalorian for sale at Walmart. I purchased nearly every single art book I own from Amazon because the prices are less than buying them in store. When I looked at The Madalorian art book, I realized the price of the book was similar to Amazon’s. Since the prices were similar, I decided to buy the book in store. That way I wouldn’t need to wait for it to come in the mail.

I have yet to read the book cover to cover, but I still wanted to write a first impressions post about The Art of Star Wars The Madalorian. I originally planed to publish this post on May 4th (Star Wars Day AKA May the 4th Be With You), but I was unable to finish writing it in time. Sponge Bob Square Pants x Wet n Wild Walmart Display

In April, I saw my local Walmart had a Wet n Wild display for the Sponge Bob Square Pants x Wet n Wild collaboration. I knew many people in the area love Sponge Bob, making this collection extremely popular. Keeping this in mind, I took as many photographs I could of the collection before it sold out.

Marvel x Maybline Makeup Walmart In Store Display

A few months ago, I discovered my closet Walmart had a Marvel x Maybline makeup display in store. The display was up for only a few days when I went back to the store to take photographs of it and see if there were any products I would like to buy. I think fellow local shoppers at the Walmart wanted to own products from the collaboration collection, which resulted in most of the liquid lipsticks to be sold out. Unfortunately, they were in the colors I would like to own, but I was still able to take photographs of the display before everything sold out and the display was removed from the store floor.

Movie Review- The First Monday in May (2016)

Today is the first Monday in May 2021 and, prior to the pandemic, this means it would be the day the Met Gala would take place. This year, the gala will take place in September, but there would still be an exhibition in the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of the Arts.

Recently, while browsing YouTube movies for movies I can watch with ads, I found The First Monday in May. I already watched it before (And own a DVD copy of it) but I always celebrate the Met Gala this time of the year by watching it.

Movie Review- A Cinderella Story (2004)

In the 2000’s, many movies targeting female teenagers could regularly be seen in movie theaters. Some of the movies were inspired by fairy tales or princesses. Many were not as good as others, but one of my favorites is A Cinderella Story. Recently, YouTube movies posted the movie to watch for free with ads. Movie Review- Valentine’s Day (2010)

Today is Valentine’s Day and, since to day is Valentine’s Day, I decided to review a romance movie names after today’s holiday, Valentine’s Day.

Valentine’s Day is a 2010 romantic comedy movie written by Kathrine Fugate, Abby Kohn, and Marc Silverson. The movie was directed by Gary Marshall, who is known for working as a director and screen writer from movies and TV shows such as Happy Days and Pretty Woman.

The plot of the movie follows many people throughout one Valentine’s Day. The characters, played by many well known actors and actress such as Julia Roberts, Jamie Foxx, Jessica Alba, Patric Dempsey, Anne Hathaway, and Aston Kutcher to name a few, have different mindsets and frustrations about the day. Everyone’s story is completely related to each others’, but the the stories are related due to the interactions of the characters throughout their day.

Because of this, nobody is specifically a “main character” or “main couple”, but certain characters and their love lives are more prominent than others. The characters’ story that stood out to me as the “main couple” of the movie involves two characters, Reed Bennett (plaid by Aston Kutcher) and Julia Fitzpatrick (plaid by Jennifer Garner) and their love lives. They are also two of the first characters introduced in the movie and the last characters to finally find love.

When I watched Valentine’s Day for the first time in 2010, I didn’t like it. At all. The problem is the story is hard to understand unless you pay close attention to the movie. After watching it several times over the years, it began to make more sense, but it takes time to develop an understanding of the plot, the characters, and how the character’s interaction influences other character’s decisions or the situations they face over the course of the day. Movie Review- When in Rome (2010)

While searching YouTube for something new to watch, I discovered YouTube’s movie channel YouTube Movies had some movies available to watch that are free to view with ads. One of the movies is When in Rome, a romantic comedy staring Kristen Bell and Josh Duhamel with Will Arnett, Alexis Dziena, Jon Heder, Dax Shepard, Danny DeVito, and Anjelica Huston. Since it was available for free, and it was near Valentines Day, I decided to watch it.

When in Rome is about Beth Martin (Kristen Bell), an employee at a museum and a woman disillusioned with love after a bad breakup with her ex the year before. When her sister tells her she is engaged and is getting married in Rome, she travels to Rome to attend and participate in the wedding. Ballet Company YouTube Channels That Are Streaming The Nutcracker Performances- 2020

Well, this holiday season hasn’t turned out the way I wanted to. In addition to a lot of things happening in my real life (Including a health scare of one of my relatives (It has nothing to do with the pandemic)), I also missed a few days of Blogmas! To be honest, I suspected I may miss a few posts this year because this year has been so weird, but I still hoped it wouldn’t happen. Despite this, I still plan to make 25 or more posts this month… even if some of those posts are on the same day.

During this odd and stressful holiday time, I discovered several ballet companies are posting videos of their 2019 performances of The Nutcracker. This made me extremely happy to see because the videos are not clips of the performances, but of the whole entire show. Although I don’t have the time to search each ballet company’s YouTube channels (Or try to search and see if they actually have a YouTube channel) I wanted to share some of my favorite ballet YouTube channels that did post videos of their Nutcracker performances in full.
