Being a teenager is hard. Looking back on your teen years as an adult can be even harder. I know it is for me.

If you write blog posts on WordPress, then you probably have seen on the blog dashboard (Called My Home) that WordPress has a section called Daily Prompt. In it, they share an idea for a post that you can answer. I considered if I should answer some of the prompts last month, but I didn’t due to Blogmas.
This month, and this year if everything goes well, I decided to answer some of the prompts. These posts will be in addition to any other posts I write on this blog. Hi everyone! After ten years of blogging on Essie of Who, it’s time for me to change my blogging pen name. If you follow this blog, the sister blog to Essie of Who, then you probably have read a post I wrote last month about breaking ties to the people that live near where I live and certain family members. I did this in order to just talk openly about my frustrations with people. Even though this was as open as I’ve been on my blog about my personal life (And probably ever will depending on what happens in the future and the importance of writing it in a post) I did mention something important about me. I’m called a different name by certain family members and friends of mine.
The reason for this is due to my real name. It’s a wonderful name for anyone who isn’t in my family. Instead, it’s a name that has caused conflicted since I was a child. In order to make sure I knew I was loved and not hated (As that was what I thought about my self growing up), a handful of family members began to call me a different name. While working on posts for this blog, I rediscovered my love for certain songs from movie, TV show, and other soundtracks. Listening to them brings me joy, so in the spirit of sharing my love of music, I decided to write a series of posts sharing my favorite songs from certain soundtracks and why I love them so much. I hope to write posts about whole entire soundtracks, but I’m unable to do that right now. So, for now, I’ll share my favorite songs from certain soundtracks.
The first soundtrack I wanted to share the songs from is Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles. It is an anime about a princess named Tsubasa who looses her memories. She and her best friend from childhood, Syaoran, must travel through space and time to find these memories, which are manifested in a feather with special powers. Along the way, they meet and join forces with Fai D. Flourite and Kurogane, who help them find feathers. In addition to them, they also encounter other characters from previous and then current stories by the manga artist group Clamp, who created Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles.
Although the story is very complicated (Think of the Marvel Cinematic Universe crossovers and intertwined story lines except for anime and manga), there is one thing that non anime fans and anyone uninterested in watching the story will enjoy: The soundtrack.
There are multiple soundtracks uses in the anime series, but the one I wanted to talk about in this post is called Future Soundscapes I. Future Soundscapes I is written by Yuki Kajiura, who wrote both the music and lyrics to the songs on the album, except for the songs Blaze and Loop. The album contains the music used in the first season of the anime. Included on the album are the songs Blaze and Loop, which were the opening song and ending song respectively. For the past few years, I thought about talking about my vehicle in a post. Owning a vehicle is important to me because I live miles away from the nearest grocery store, post office, and other places I need to go. I also run errands for my relative’s work. The problem is my vehicle isn’t doing so well.
My vehicle was purchased in 2011 second hand and has worked extremely well for all these years. I has had it’s problems, including a car accident in 2015 that messed with parts of it, but it’s worked pretty well since it came into my possession. Unfortunately, it’s becoming harder and harder to keep up. The problems caused by the car accident as well as age, wear and tear, and other problems that indicate to me it may have not be cared for by it’s previous owners as well as I thought forced me to seriously look at getting a new vehicle.
The problem is right now I don’t want to get a new vehicle right now.
As of right now, new vehicles are becoming harder to buy and second hand vehicle prices are so crazy, I don’t even want to try to track one down. This is caused by the slowing down of manufacturing of new vehicles due to a pandemic caused computer chip shortage. This means a shortage of them and older, second hand vehicles to become so pricey, it’s not within my budget to buy one. So, I still need to figure out how to keep my current vehicle operational.
Since I’m stuck with my current vehicle, I’m trying to make the best out of this situation. I enjoyed my vehicle for the past ten years and will miss her (Yes. My vehicle is a her.) when I cannot drive her anymore. Instead of trying to be melancholy that she will no longer be mine, I’m trying to look on the bright side and be thankful she lasted six years after the car accident. I’m thankful she took me places and doctor appointments when I was sick. I’m thankful she was easy to handle, drive, and was overall a very good vehicle to own. I’m looking forward to owning a new vehicle that has a reliable engine like she does, but is larger and has more storage space. My poor vehicle is just too small for anything I try to carry to fit in my vehicle! Not to mention me and any passenger over 5 feet 8 inches tall!

Back in the year 2000, I used to listen to pop and top 30 music all the time, but I also listed to an equal amount of country music. Today, I don’t listen to country music nearly as much because the music style has changed so much I really don’t like it at all. Although there are some country songs that are new and enjoy listening to, for the most part I listen to the “oldies” from the 2000’s and any decade prior to the year 2013. Because of this, I listen to more songs I loved in the year 2000 than pop music.
And so, without further delay, here is a list of all the country hits I used to like in 2000.

After writing my first post about five holiday things I want to do in my future new home, I realized I can make another post with five more things I want to do. As you may have noticed, I’m very excited about my future house, even though I don’t own one nor am I ready to move yet. Dreaming of all the things I can do in my house during the holidays fills me with the joy and excitement that I’ve lacked all year long.
