5 Types of Clothing I Love But Don’t Look Good on Me
Every August, I look for new clothes to wear during the fall and winter. I’m lucky to live in a warm climate, so our fall and winters are mild. Despite this, there have been times when cold snaps happen and I need to drag out my heavy winter clothes. This is why I like to look for new clothes starting in July and August to purchase.
This year, my health has improved a great deal, which means I could find clothes that look good on me. Usually, I purchase clothes with the intention of hiding something on my body that is a health problem. Even though I should be happy about this, inflation and less clothing available in the area where I normally shop had made this a very upsetting time for me to shop for new clothes. Despite this, I still want to search.
While searching for new clothes and outfit inspiration, I realized I love outfits with clothes I cannot wear. Many years have passed since I was diagnosed with my illness. In that time, I forgot many of the outfits I love to look at will never look good on me. It is not because of my health problems. It is because the shape of my body does not look good in these clothes.
Since this a topic I thought about a lot lately, and loved to focus on because it releases my stress from other things that are going on in my life, I decided to write a post about all the types of clothing I love to look at, but really don’t look good on me. Book Review: The Illustrated World of Couture by Megan Hess
For the past few weeks, I’ve had a lot of time to read. Because of this, I decided to dedicate the next seven posts to reviewing some of the books I read, reread, or read and recently thought about.
For the first book I’m reviewing, I wanted to start with a fashion book by Megan Hess. Earlier this year, I purchased more books by Megan Hess, including some of her fashion illustration books. The first one I purchased is The Illustrated World of Couture. I love her illustrations of couture clothing and shows, so I though it would be a book I would really enjoy reading and owning.

5 Favorite Clothing Essentials for an Arizona Winter
Winter is here and, here in Arizona, it means that the winters are mild and, depending on where in Arizona you live, that means no snow and mild temperatures. Even though it doesn’t get as cold as other locations of the United States, it can still get cold outside. Since I shared my favorite summer essentials earlier this year, I wanted to share five of my favorite clothing essentials to survive an Arizona winter.

Juicy by Juicy Couture at JcPenny’s Photographs- Children’s Collection
After looking at the Juicy by Juicy Couture collection at JcPenny’s, (You can read about it here) I began to walk around the store to see if there was anything new I’d like to eventually purchase. (Or purchase for friends of mine for Christmas) While walking around the store, I found the Juicy by Juicy Couture line of clothes in the children’s section. I didn’t know about the collection, or that there were items in children’s sizes, so I decided to have a look at the clothes. Juicy by Juicy Couture at JcPenny’s Photographs- Teens and Adult Collection
During a recent shopping trip to JcPenny’s, I discovered a new brand for sale in the teens section of the store. The brand is Juicy by Juicy Couture. According to this article from Business Wire, the brand is a brand expansion of Juicy Couture. The article says…
Bringing accessible, casual luxury to JCPenney, Juicy by Juicy Couture offers women’s and kid’s apparel, shoes, sleepwear, watches, and accessories rooted in the brand’s bold LA-inspired style. The new women’s collection—featuring a unique spin on the brand’s signature track suit—is now available in 500 JCPenney stores and online at jcp.com/juicybyjuicy.
The collection took me by surprise, so I decide to look at it and take a few photographs for future reference. I don’t know if anyone is aware of the Juicy by Juicy Couture line of clothes, or that they offer children, teen, and adult sizes, so I decided to write a post about it, my impressions of it, and share some of the photographs I took of the collection. 5 Homecoming Dress Trends for 2021
This week is my local high school’s homecoming and I feel very inspired to talk about homecoming dresses. This year, homecoming dances have returned and so have the dresses to buy and wear to them. For the past few months, I didn’t get out of the house much but I have been looking at my favorite department stores websites to see what kind of dresses they are selling this year for homecoming.
JcPenny’s Prom Dresses In Store Photographs 2021
After seeing the prom dresses at Macy’s and Dillard’s, I decided to go to JcPenny’s to see what kind of prom dresses they had for 2021. I had trouble finding a JcPenny’s that had prom dresses though, so it took me a while to find a JcPenny’s that had prom dresses in store. I did find a store with dresses, but the JcPenny’s didn’t have nearly as many dresses as Macy’s and Dillard’s. Even though the store did not have many dresses to see in person, I still found a few that I liked. I also was able to take photographs of the dresses in store. 5 Favorite Fashion Books to Give as Gifts for Christmas 2020
For many years, I collect fashion books. Some of them are for specific collections or fashion houses, others are about fashion styles from specific time periods. Some are coffee table books while others are actually textbooks that are used by colleges and professional costume designers to create historically accurate books. And, like anyone who has a large library of books on a specific subject, I have books I love more than others.
Recently, I started to go through my library of fashion books and realized some of the books in my collection would make great gifts for anyone who wants to give one to a friend or family member for Christmas. I narrowed down the group of books to five of my favorite fashion books that would make great gifts for Christmas. As of December 2020, all the books on this list are still in print and are in my own personal collection. Some may be more expensive than others, but I’m capping the price point of under $100 USD. All the books are currently available on Amazon as of December 2020. Continue reading “5 Favorite Fashion Books to Give as Gifts for Christmas 2020”
Favorite Dillard’s Coats for 2020
It’s November and, for some parts of the United States, it’s getting cooler outside. Unfortunately for Arizona, it’s still unseasonably hot. Despite this, fall and winter coats are now available to buy. I’m not interested in buying a coat this year, but I do like looking at them and seeing how the styles changed in a year.
Whenever I need a new coat, one of the first places I look for one is Dillard’s department store. Even though I’m not looking for a new coat, I still wanted to look at Dillard’s to see if there are any coats I like. I did find some that I liked, so I wanted to share my favorites in this post.
