20 Days of Spring Cleaning 2023- Day 7

Even though it’s seven days into my 20 Days of Spring Cleaning, I didn’t feel like I got much done. My allergies really set me back and my work life has become busier than I anticipated it. Instead of focusing on how little cleaning I did on this day, I spent it taking a serious reassessment of what I can realistically do and finish this month.

After searching my things and wondered what I would like to clean and organize and what I don’t, I decided the first do-not-touch category of cleaning, organizing, and decluttering are my knitting, art, sewing supplies, and fabric stash.

As I write this, I am in the process of making myself new clothes to wear later this year. I have ideas for dresses, shorts, skirts, jumpsuits, and more. I can’t find many clothes I want to wear in store anymore, so I decided to focus on making clothes that complement the clothes I already own and want to wear.

Since I have my fabric, as well as my yarn and other crafting supplies, in what looks like disorganized piles, I decided to keep them as-is for now. They aren’t pretty to look at, but I know where everything currently is located.

So, even though my art, sewing, knitting, and craft piles are not organized and look terrible, I am going to leave it as-is for now. I’m not happy about it, but it will work until I finish all the projects I need to finish.

Instead, I will focus on other parts of the house. Even though the areas where I work are a mess, I still have areas of the house I can tackle. These areas include the bathroom, laundry room, and kitchen. All three need a good deep cleaning, reorganizing, and potentially some repairs. I am still considering all the things I need to do with them, but working on them will have no effect on anything art, sewing, or likewise I am working on. Also, working on these spaces will make me feel better. Not only will I have accomplished cleaning and organizing three rooms, I will be able to do other, such as paint one of the rooms, much easier. I am not in a hurry to paint, but it is something I still dwell on and know I need to do before I can consider any the rooms completely finished and fixed.

Even if I cannot paint the rooms, I will still be able to clean them. This will help me out immensely as the seasons move to summertime! I am looking forward to having clean rooms and organized shelves in the house!

Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
