20 Days of Spring Cleaning 2023- Days 5 and 6

On the first full week of March 2023, I didn’t do as much cleaning. I struggled from an allergic reaction from a beauty product I used the week before. This resulted in little to no progress made for the first two days of the week. I did recover, but I was in pain and needed to rest before I launched into cleaning any further.

Instead of focusing on my health problems, I tried to figure out another way to make some sort of progress in cleaning, organizing, or repair work in my house. I ended up doing a lot of research into paint, paint colors, and considering potential plans on how to proceed in painting rooms in the house. I am happy I did this during a time when I felt bad from an allergic reaction. I gave me a better perspective on what needs to be done and my limitations to accomplish it.

Day 5

During the night, I had major problems with an allergic reaction. I didn’t need to seek medical help, but I wondered if I should. Everything ended up ok in the end. Still, my allergic reaction made me realize I need to spend the day resting. Any cleaning, organizing, or planning of any sort is delayed until later in the week.

Day 6

I had to work and run errands today, so I didn’t do much cleaning. I did sort through the pile of beauty products I need to put away. There are things I want to get rid of, but I don’t know how many people would like a used yet nearly full containers of products! I know I have friends who would be more than happy to take them off my hands, but I won’t be able to see them in person for a while. So, I plan on storing them for a while until I figure out what to do with them

After starting to clean the bathroom shelves, I realized I need to not only paint the shelves, but also the walls of the bathroom as well! It’s not something I want to talk about, but it is something I need to do. I did spend some down time on my computer, looking at paints for the bathroom. I won’t be able to paint everything in the bathroom right away. There are some DIY repairs I need to star and finish. Yet, I want to get some paint before I really launch into those repairs. That way I can start working on the the repairs and then finish by painting the walls. Then the bathroom will be done… ish. (There are still some issues with the bathroom, but that isn’t my “job”.)

Speaking of paint, the rest of the house needs paint too. Both inside and out. I browsed Sherwin Williams for paint for the outside of the house and I found the exact paint match for the house. I don’t know if I should actually purchase any paint right now or even what paint to buy in the color I want it in. I think the outside of the house can hold up longer than I think the house paint can.

I do feel scared and intimidated by the paint job in front of me. Aside from all the repairs certain walls need, I need to move furniture and storage cabinets around. This is ok for me in certain rooms, but other rooms I know will be an issue. Since my friends have problems driving near the area where I live due to major and ongoing road construction, I can’t call them up and rely on them to help me out. There are other ways I can work around it, and get help moving furniture, but I still feel annoyed. I’m also worried about hurting myself too much while moving furniture. I’m not as weak as I used to be, but I still hesitate because of my old health problems and how it may have damaged parts of my body, such as my muscles and nerves. I think I’ll be find if I do it in planned phases, but it will require me to paint one wall at a time.

Finally, I don’t know what colors to paint the bathroom. I could keep it the same color, or I could paint it something else. I’d really like to paint it something else. I think it would look really nice in a light blue or light grey blue. The storage area and the shelves (It’s not really a linen closet so I don’t call it that) will be white. I don’t know. It’s the first time it’s been painted in many years, so I don’t want to pick a color I don’t like or will be too trendy. That’s why I’m leaning towards the original color, which I can still find available to purchase, or a lighter version of it. I’m leaning towards a lighter version of it. The original color is a yellow white with more yellow that I’d like. It’s not a bad color. I just feel like the room is too dark and needs a lighter color on its walls. That’s why I’m leaning towards a lighter color of the yellow white that is has been since it was built. I need to do some additional checking to see if it is something I’d like.

Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
