Gain x Wicked: For Good Fantabulous Floral Flings Laundry Detergent Review
In 2025, the laundry detergent brand Gain, as well as many other brands, released collaboration collections to promote the movie, Wicked: For Good. The collection Gain released included a detergent and two in-wash scent boosters.
During a shopping trip to my favorite Walmart, I found the Gain collection for sale. It had the detergent and one of the two scent boosters. I debated if I wanted to buy them, but after shopping around the store some more, I decided to buy the detergent and scent boosters.
I originally planed on using the detergent and scent boosters and then write a review on this blog before the end of 2025. Unfortunately, things got in my way, causing me to delay using both the detergent and scent booster for my wash. Even though it is 2026, I wanted to talk about my experience using them in posts. As of the publishing of this post, the only product I was able to finish using is the detergent. Because of this, I want to talk about the detergent first.
Before I talk about the detergent and it’s washing performance, I wanted to show what the detergent and it’s container look like.
This is what the package the detergent came in…

The detergent is a part of Gain’s Flings products. Gain Flings have three products in them: A detergent, Oxi Boost, and Fabreze. They work in both in regular and HE washing machines and in both hot and color water.
This is what the Fling pods looks like…

On Gain’s website, they list the features and benefits of the Fantabulous Floral Flings as…
- POWERFUL CLEAN: Gain Flings! are the only laundry detergent pacs that deliver the power of Oxiboost and the enchanting freshness of Febreze
- ENCHANTING SCENT: The Fantabulous Floral scent of Gain Laundry Flings! – “Wicked: For Good” Limited Edition wraps you in hibiscus and peony blooms with soft whispers of Vanilla
- FRESHNESS: Gain FLINGS laundry detergent pacs are made with 50% more freshness ingredients* vs. Cheer detergent
- Versatile Use: Gain Flings laundry detergent is suitable for all machines and water conditions
So, how do I like it and how well does it clean? (Not in that order)
First, I wanted to mention that I don’t normally use Gain detergent. I’ve heard good things about it from friends of mine that use it, but I don’t personally use it. I have sensitive skin and allergies, so I like to stick with a detergent and keep using it until that brand is no longer available at my Walmart or I don’t think it’s cleaning well. I also prefer to use detergents that are meant for sensitive skin and are hypoallergenic.
Since I like to use detergents that are best suited for my skin and allergies, I decided to use this detergent on my washable rugs, towels I keep for wiping hands in the laundry room, and other things my skin doesn’t touch all the time. After using the whole container of flings, I am very impressed by their cleaning ability! For an example, I have a rug in my kitchen to both act as a type of cushion to stand on and to cover up an imperfection in the floor. (One of the many things that needs to be worked on in my house) It usually gets splattered with spaghetti sauce and other types of food that accidentally get dropped on the floor. I normally use a stain remover to help get the stains out of the rug. Once, while using the Gain x Wicked detergent, I forgot to put stain remover on the rug before I washed it. After I took the rug out of the washing machine, I was surprised to see the stain was gone! I saw the same results in other things I washed using the detergent flings.
As for the scent, it is a nice enough scent for me to like. In general, I like the scent notes of hibiscus, peony, and vanilla. Smelling them together was a really pleasant scent! (I wish these scent notes were in a perfume. I’d really like to try that type of perfume!) Although I like the scent notes and the scent in general, I did have some problems adjusting to it on my laundry. Since I wash everything as fragrance free as possible and within reason, I had a few problems adjusting to having a fragrance on objects. It’s wasn’t as difficult for me to get used to the fragrance, but I did need some time to get my nose adjusted to it.
Even though I am sensitive to fragrances, especially new fragrances, I did find something a little different about the Gain x Wicked scent: It is stronger in the flings and in the process of washing than it is after the laundry is finished washing. It seems like the rinse cycle washes out the fragrance, dulling it. Since I’m sensitive to fragrances, I like this subtle fragrance more than a stronger, more obvious fragrance in my laundry. Yet, it could be a problem for anyone who wants the fragrance to be strong.
Overall, it is a good detergent with a nice, floral fragrance. It works well on stains and dirt. The fragrance stays on the laundry for a very long time, but it isn’t a very strong, overpowering fragrance. I like how the detergent washes and how long the scent lasts. I still would’ve preferred the fragrance if it was in a perfume instead of a detergent, but this is just my personal preference.
That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
