August is the month when the summer starts to wind down. In Arizona, it is an especially important time of the year. This is when the summer heat starts to weigh, storms are still around, but they are not always as fierce, and school starts for many students.

Here are the reasons why I love August in Arizona…
- Football season starts.
- Schools are back in session.
- The temperatures have a chance to be cooler. (Not normally, but there is more of a chance than in the previous months!)
- Even though school is back in session, you can still swim in the pool without worrying cool temperatures.
- Summer rains and any potentially cooler temperatures will cause the desert to bloom!
And here are the reasons why I hate August in Arizona…
- The heat is still here.
- All the schools are back in session.
- Winter visitors are back.
- There are still chances for major summer storms.
- Summer rains and any potentially cooler temperatures will cause allergies!
