5 Christmas Gift Ideas for New House Owners

Moving to a new house, apartment, or on your own for the first time is both a stressful and exciting time. Especially during the holiday season. Thinking about moving during this time of the year inspired me to create a list of five gift ideas for new house owners or if someone you know moved out on their own earlier this year. The gifts in this post are meant as Christmas gifts, but they could be used for house warming gifts if you know someone moved during the holiday season.

Swarovski 2017 Annual Star Christmas Ornament Feature

Last year, I decided to not purchase ornaments from Hallmark. I didn’t feel really inspired by the 2024 collection, so I decided to spend any allocated ornament money on other ornaments… or anything else I want/need to buy that year.

One of the ornaments I found was Swarovski’s 2017 Annual Star Christmas Ornament. Since it was 2024, I was able to find it for a really good price. I originally planned on writing an ornament feature post for last year’s Blogmas, but I didn’t have the time to photograph the ornament, edit the photos, and write the post in time. Since it’s Christmas time again, I decided to include the ornament feature post in this year’s Blogmas.

Cleaning with Physical Health Problems (And Why It is Dragging Out the Process)

It has been over a month since I wrote a post about anything home repair and cleaning related. All throughout the month of October, I went back and forth if I should write about what is going on in my life. I decided not to because… well… things haven’t been going so well.

Michaels Stores Sweet and Spooky 2025 Halloween Decorations

For the past several years, there have been more Halloween decorations in the color pink. Some years the decorations are in a light pink while others are bright pink. These decorations are usually hit or miss with people online and with shoppers.

This year, Michaels created a collection called Sweet and Spooky. This collection features a lot of pink, but with a retro twist. I was able to see this collection in store. While there, I took photographs of everything I liked or thought was interesting in the collection.

Attempting to Make Brioche Bread Again

Last December, my mixer broke while making a new bread recipe. This recipe was for brioche bread.

Today, I have a new mixer that is stronger than my old one. Even though it is stronger and far more reliable than my old one, I still was worried about how well it would do making brioche. A few weeks ago, I decided to try to make the bread again.

Michaels Stores Trick or Treat 2025 Halloween Decorations

We are now 17 days away from Halloween! I hope everyone is excited about this spooky holiday!

Every year, I complain (To myself) how there aren’t a lot of “ordinary” Halloween decorations. For so many years, the decor is so aesthetic… but it isn’t my aesthetic! I want more orange, more cute, not creepy, ghosts, and plenty of happy looking Jack-o-Lanterns. Sadly, there hasn’t been many decorations like this. So, I’ve resorted to making some of my decorations.

This year, Michaels released a collection of decorations called Trick or Treat. This collection is similar to what I have in mind for my Halloween decorations. It has many things I like and want from the decorations. Although it is not perfect, it did give me ideas and inspiration for my own Halloween decorations.

Michaels Stores’ Give Thanks Fall 2025 Decorations

Fall decorations have changed a lot over the years. Although there are the normal and expected decorations, such as pumpkins, leaves, and more, sometimes there are themes that are unusual and… well… odd. Especially in more recent years.

This year, Michaels has a collection called “Give Thanks”. The collection includes many of the expected fall related items, but this time they would be perfect for Thanksgiving. Now-en days, I don’t see many decorations that would work for Thanksgiving celebrations. This collection, on the other hand, has many things that would be perfect for decorating for Thanksgiving.

Michaels Stores’ Blush Romance Fall 2025 Decor

I have been a casual fan of romantic and shabby chic fall decorations for many years. Some years I don’t like the style  of them, but other years I do. Normally I purchase these decorations to use them throughout the year due to their color scheme and how I like to decorate my house.

For fall 2025, Michaels has a new collection called Blush Romance. The collection included everything I usually want to see in a shabby chic/romantic themed fall collection: Roses, darker tones, and vintage/Victorian inspired designs. My closest Michaels has most of the collection available to shop in store, so I took some photographs of the items that caught my eye.

Michaels Stores’ Woodland Creature Figurines for Fall 2025

Last month, I talked about a very cute fox figurine I saw at my closet Michael’s store. You can read the post here. I liked it a lot, but I thought it was pretty big for my house right now

While shopping around the store, I found a selection of creatures made out of the same materials as the fox. The difference is not only the variety of figures, but the size. These ones are much smaller than the fox I originally saw.

Home Improvements, Cleaning Out Stuff, and Anxiety About Everything in Disarray

Lately, life has been… interesting. Although there isn’t many important moments, it has been a world wind of worry, concern, frustration, anxiety, and a lot of repair work to my house. There are many things that are holding up well in my house, but there are so many other things that need to be worked on quickly.

After months of this, I debated if I should even talk about the problems in a post. Yet, after months of debating if I should or shouldn’t mention anything online, I decided to risk talking a little bit about what’s been going on.
