Favorite Beauty Products for 2023

It’s the last day of the year, which means it is time to reflect on the past year! For me, there have been many things that I can reflect on in a post. Even though I feel drawn to talk about things more important than beauty products, I still believe like I need to talk about the products I really enjoyed using or discovering in 2023. This list isn’t as long as it could be, yet I am very thankful these products were available for me to purchase and use this year!

Sun Bum Sunscreen

I won’t lie, I have had major problems finding a sunscreen I can use without suffering from an allergic reaction. After a lot of research, I finally decided to try Sun Bum. I used sunscreen many years ago and really liked it. The only reasons why I discontinued using it is due to availability (I couldn’t travel at the stores it was sold at back then) and the price point. Today, these are no longer obstacles for me. I am so happy I started using it again! I haven’t suffered from an allergic reaction from Sun Bum sunscreen and it has protected my skin more than I ever imagined it would. I still have some freckles caused by the sun, but they aren’t anywhere as large or dark as they used to be!

Tree Hut Body Scrubs

I decided to focus on exfoliating my skin (Non face only) more this year. So, I turned to my favorite body scrub brand, Tree Hut, for exfoliating scrubs. I ended up buying several different scrubs throughout the year with different scents. I had problems with the reappearance of eczema patches this year. So, I switched scents and products often in order to find one that I like the scent of and wouldn’t bother my eczema patches. Currently, I found multiple body scrub scents that I like and don’t bother my patches. They include Candy Cane, Moroccan Rose, and Strawberry. There are others I want to try, but I’m waiting until 2024 to start using them.

Philosophy 3 in 1 Shower Gel, Shampoo, and Bath

So, earlier this year I had some problems using my normal shampoo. I decided to try another shampoo for a while until I felt like I could use my normal shampoo again. My favorite shampoo to use in times like this is the Philosophy Shower Gel, Shampoo, and Bath. It is easier on my hair and is really gentle. I used two different scents this year: Falling in Love (I reviewed this scent in a post here) and Vanilla Birthday Cake. I really liked both scents for different reasons.

Aveeno Eczema Therapy Daily Moisturizing Cream

Ok, I admit it. I have eczema. I won’t lie, I’ve been living in denial of it for years. (Mostly because I didn’t have eczema patches for… well… years! Almost 20 years to be exact.) This year, I have finally admitted to myself I have eczema and it’s not going away unless I make some major changes to my skincare. I already started using the Aveeno eczema therapy cream to help with my super dry skin. Now that I’m trying to focus on managing and healing my patches, I decided to use it on my eczema patches. And it helped! Since I don’t suffer from severe eczema, this cream was all I needed to help my skin heal completely. So, it is defiantly one of my favorite beauty products!

Tangle Teaser Hair Brush

I needed a new brush but didn’t like any of the ones I saw at Walmart. I nearly settled on one of the brushes I saw at Walmart anyway until I found a Tangle Teaser brush on sale at Marshall’s. I bought it and began using it… and loved it! I’m now a huge fan of the Tangle Teaser brushes. It doesn’t work for every situation, but it is a great all around brush for my hair. A honorable mention for hair brushes goes to Wet Brush, which I like a lot as well. Just not as much as the Tangle Teaser.

OPI x Barbie Nail Polish Collection

I really liked the OPI x Barbie nail polish collection. I really wanted more pink nail polish shades, but didn’t like what I saw in stores. When the collection was released, I became interested in it. I wanted pink shades similar to what I would associate as Barbie pink, so I was hopeful the collection would have what I want. I was right! I really love the collection and the shades of pink. They flatter my skin tone and are the perfect shades of pink I was looking for. I also really love the glitter shades in the collection. The collection included blue and yellow shades, but I love the pink shades more. I’m very happy to own them and look forward to using them again in the spring!

That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
