Some of My Summer Reading Plans for 2023

Well, I think it is official. This summer I will be a homebody. Actually, I shouldn’t say will be. Most likely and probably is more like it. There are several reasons why, but the main reasons include road construction in the area where I live and the hotter weather. Still, I am remaining optimistic about staying home this summer. One of them is that I have more time to read.

I have a very long and lengthy list of books I want to read this summer, but to be realistic, I won’t be able to finish everything on it. Instead, I want to focus on the books I want to read most of all. Even though I have a long reading list, I still want to write a post about some of the books I’m looking forward to reading the most.

The Hunger Games Trilogy and The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes

Later on this year, the movie version of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes will be released. This is why I decided to reread The Hunger Games Trilogy and The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. It has been a while since I read them, so it’s a great time to reread them. I don’t know how much of The Hunger Games books I will get through before the end of summer, but I’m hopeful I’ll read The Ballad of Songbirds of Snakes before the movie premieres.

Midnight Sun

So, I have already read Midnight Sun. I wanted to reread it again this summer, but I forgot why! Still, I plan on reading it… even though I don’t remember the reason why. Except I like the book.

Romance Novels

I’m not gonna lie. I have a lot of romance novels I haven’t read. They live in piles all over my house. Some are clean while others are still in question. Now that I’m going to be a homebody this summer, I decided to read as many as I can. I won’t go into details about them, mostly because I’m not sure if they will be any good, but the ones I picked up so far (Which just so happen to be clean) are pretty good.

The Princess Quarantine Diaries

When I was growing up, I used to read The Princess Diaries. I really liked them, but only certain books. Unfortunately, there haven’t been many books since then. When Meg Calbot began to write Mia’s diaries online during the Covid-19 lockdowns in 2020, I was excited. I really enjoyed reading them and was one of the many highlights for me during the lockdowns! Since then, the diary entries were published in a book form. Of course, I bought a copy. Even though I read them online, I want to reread the story again. The book is supposed to include more than what was online, so I’m excited to read it.

Manga

The final book I want to read this summer are magna series. If you never heard of manga, it is a comic book that is originally from Japan. I used to read them a lot, but over the years I stopped. I liked the series I owned, but didn’t like any of the new series. Today, I found multiple manga series I want to read. This summer, I want to read them! They include Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Cards, Spy x Family, and some various other manga I found and thought I’d like to try.

Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
