2021 Birthday and Christmas Self Gifted Presents Part 3: Books
Well, this is the second-to-last post in my 2021 birthday and Christmas self-gifted presents posts! After shopping at stores, I began to find many books I wanted to purchase for myself. Even though I like to receive books as gifts, I almost always ask for coffee table books or art books from a certain TV series or movie. I don’t like to ask for novels as gifts because I don’t want to ask for a book, receive it as a gift, and, after reading it, I don’t like it.
During November and December, I purchased quite a few books for myself. Although I have yet to read all of these books, I wanted to talk about them in a post while I’m still excited about them.
The first books I purchased are Crave and Crush by Tracy Wolff…

These books are books 1 and 2 and are part of the Crave series. I debated if I wanted to buy the first book in the series, Crave, since I saw it in store in 2020. I finally purchased a copy in November, started to read it, and liked it enough to buy the next book in the series, Crush, before I finished book 1. I’m still not sure if I like them enough to buy the rest of the series, or to recommend the books to anyone, but I’m hopeful and optimistic I will finish Crave before the end of winter.
The next book I purchased is Tokyo Ever After by Emiko Jean…

I had my eye on Tokyo Ever After since I saw it during a shopping trip at Target. I really liked the premise of it, (Similar to the Princess Diaries except with a Japanese princess instead of European) but I didn’t buy it until last month. I haven’t read it yet, but I am very happy I don’t need to worry about buying it anymore.
The next book I purchased is Fable: A Novel by Adrienne Young…

I found Fable while searching on Amazon for new young adult novels to read. It sounded interesting, but after a few weeks of thinking about it, I decided to buy myself a copy of the book. It is part of the Fable series with the second book called Namesake: A Novel. I don’t own Namesake, but if I like Fable, I will purchase it as well.
The last book I purchased is God Bless This Mess: Learning to Live and Love Through Life’s Best (And Worst) Moments by Hannah Brown…

Hannah Brown was a contestant on season 15 of ABC’s reality dating show The Bachelorette. I talked about watching the season she was on in a post, which can be read here. Even though I’m still not a fan of the show, the premise of the book she wrote peaked my attention. After seeing the book at Walmart and walking away from it to continue shopping, later I returned to the book section and picked it up. According to one of my friends, it might be enjoyable to read, so I don’t know if I’ll actually like the book or not.
Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
