Victoria’s Secret Bombshell Gold Holiday 2020 Perfume Review
Earlier this year, I was cleaning out and organizing my holiday decor. In one of the boxes, I found something completely unexpected: A bottle of perfume. Not just any perfume, a limited holiday release perfume.
The perfume is Victoria’s Secret Bombshell Gold. It was released in honor of the 2020 holiday season. I purchased it because I thought I would like, but it clearly got lost while taking down my Christmas decorations. Because of this, I wasn’t able to try it like I planned.
Since I rediscovered this fragrance, I decided to write a review about it. Even though it’s been five years since it’s release, I keep my decorations in the basement of my house. This is why the perfume didn’t go bad like it would’ve if I kept it in a places that is not temperature controlled.
This is what the box looks like…

And this is what the bottle looks like…

The back of the box lists the scent notes as Frozen Lychee, Gilded Peony, and Sugared Woods.
I remember when I bought the fragrance I really liked it. Since then, I still like it, but it isn’t the kind of fragrance I would normally wear. I don’t like the way lychee or woody scents smells on my skin, but I do like peony. Even though my tastes have changed, I still wanted to give it a try.
After smelling it and giving the scent a wear test, I still struggle to like the lychee and wood scent notes, but I still like this fragrance. It is more of a winter scent, yet it is light and feminine. The sugared wood notes creates a really nice sweetness to the fragrance that I like a lot. The peony is still there, but the lychee seems to be stronger and overshadows the peony more than I would prefer it to be. Still, the balance between all the notes creates a more harmonious scent that I really do enjoy. Because of this, I’m unsure if I will like the fragrance more if the peony scent note is more clear and obvious.
Even though this fragrance is not the kind of fragrance I will like to wear, I still enjoy it. It lasted over three hours on my skin before it began to fade. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a lighter winter/holiday fragrance that is both feminine and contains lychee and wood notes too.
That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
