TJ Maxx September 2018 Makeup Haul

Back in September, while browsing a local TJ Maxx without finding anything, I decided to look in the makeup section. I’ve heard online (Youtube specifically) that TJ Maxx sometimes has Too Faced eye shadow pallets, so I decided to look for some. I didn’t find any, but I did find some makeup I wanted to try and, if I liked them, I’d purchased them in a color that matched my skin tone better.

The first items I purchased are Too Faced Liquid Latex liquid lipstick…

I purchased a Too Faced Melted Latex lipstick while at Sephora, but after trying it, I realized the red I purchased has an orange undertone. While the color looked good on my skin tone, I like to wear red lipstick with blue undertones. Since the lipstick I purchased at Sephora didn’t work out, I decided to purchase different colors to try out. Unfortunately, the colors I want are sold out on Sephora’s website and appear to be on clearance not just in Sephora, but Ulta and on Too Faced’s website as well. This obviously makes it very hard for me to find the colors I want, but I did find some at TJ Maxx!

I purchased two small bottles of the color Hot Mess…

One bottle of the color Love You Long Time…

And one bottle of the color Can’t Touch This…

Even though I could not find blue based reds, I’m very happy I found the lipstick colors I purchased! I look forward to trying them out in the future.

The next item I purchased is Becca Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation in the color Fair…

I’ve heard good things about Becca foundation, but I never got around to purchasing a bottle. When I found the foundation at TJ Maxx, I decided to pick up a bottle to test. So far I like the coverage of the foundation, but the color is too light for my after summer tanned skin. I plan on mixing it with a darker foundation I own to get a better color match.

In addition to the Becca foundation, I also purchased an Anastasia Beverly Hills stick foundation in the color Shadow…

I never tried a stick foundation before so, even though the color is not my skin tone, I decided to try it.

The final item I purchased is an Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick in the color Maddison…

This lipstick color on the box looked good, but after taking the bottle out of the box, I realized how bright it is! I knew the lipstick would not be a color I would wear on a daily basis, but I didn’t know it would be so bright. I like it though and look forward to playing with it.
