Movie Review: Good Morning Christmas! (2020)

Every year, Hallmark releases a plethora of clean romantic Christmas themed movies. Sometimes, they are good. Sometimes they aren’t. Still, I enjoy trying to watch as many as I can. (I’m a sucker for clean romantic movies and books!)

Good Morning Christmas! premiered in 2020. I purchased a DVD version of it as part of a three movie set that I purchased in 2021. Since then, I have watched it multiple times and now feel like it is a good time to write a review about it. After all, I have multiple years to watch it and think about it!

The plot synopsis for the movie on Hallmark’s website is…

Two squabbling TV hosts are sent to a festive small town over Christmas. While pretending to get along for the sake of appearance, they discover that there’s more to each other than they thought. Starring Alison Sweeney and Marc Blucas.

The movie, like many of the Hallmark Christmas movies, is really cute. I like the premise of it as well as how the ending came to be. Like with all the Hallmark Christmas movies, this movie has a happily ever after. Still, it has some twists and turns to make it unpredictable enough to keep the viewer’s attention and wonder if the lead characters will end up together. Also, like with other Hallmark movies, it moves fast, yet the pacing is slow enough for the story to develop, show the characters and their relationships develop, and deliver a happily ever after at the end of the movie.

Out of all the Hallmark Christmas movies I have watched repeatedly over the years, this one is not one of my favorites. Even though it is not one of my favorites, it is still one of the movies I still really like and really enjoy watching. The story is different than my favorites, which are normally royalty inspired, and is perfect for something I want to watch that is different than my favorite Hallmark movies. The story is easy to follow, making it the perfect movie to watch while working on my computer or doing something at the same time. Yet, it is still complicated and has enough depth that makes me want to watch it over and over again.

I highly recommend this movie to anyone looking for a Hallmark Christmas movie with a story with depth, yet is still in line with the style of the stereotypical Hallmark Christmas movie. It may not be perfect for younger children, but older children and teenagers will enjoy it. And, of course, adults will as well!

Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
