5 Reasons I Love (and 5 Reasons Why I Hate) This Month in Arizona- October
October has finally arrived in Arizona and it is the first month with many celebrations. Along with Halloween, Oktoberfest and other seasonal festivals happen in the month. Pumpkins are in season and farms are open for pumpkin picking. This, and the cooler temperatures in comparison to the summer months, makes this month a month of outdoor fun and celebrations!
As with every month, October in Arizona has its down sides. Temperatures in certain areas in Arizona may not be cool enough for many people to actually call it fall. There have been years when Arizona’s temperatures are so warm they are 100 degrees or hotter.
Since Arizona is a mix of both good and bad, I compiled a list of five reasons I love Arizona in October and five reasons why I hate it.
Here are five reasons why I love this state in October…
- There are many farms to visit for pumpkin picking season.
- Plenty of October based or general fall festivals are held outdoors. (And don’t forget about all the Halloween festivals and events in Arizona! And haunted houses!)
- Halloween is normally during a time when the weather is cool.
- Fall colors (Leaves changing colors) in the mountains peak in October.
- Hiking can resume all day long… and without snakes! (According to the official website for Tucson Snake Removal and Rattlesnake Control, snakes go into hibernation before the third week of October)
And here is a bonus reason why I love this state in October…
The Arizona State Fair happens this month!
And here are fiver reasons why I hate this state in October…
- Due to the population booms Arizona has had over the years, it can be harder to drive to certain farms for pumpkin picking than others.
- Despite October being the month Snakes go into hibernation, they could still be out in areas where people normally hike.
- There can be heat waves in October. And they have reached over 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
- The month is really nice and enjoyable… if you don’t live in the city.
- Weather in Arizona is changing. That means winds kick up and temperatures can shift unexpectedly.
That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
