Update on My Herb Rocket Sweet Basil Plant

It’s been over a month since I mentioned the Herb Rocket that grows Sweet Basil I purchased at Dollar Tree earlier this year. I decided to wait until I had time to think about what to say about it online. You can read about Herb Rocket in my past post here.

To be honest, it didn’t go as planned.

When I planted I planted the Rocket Herb, it did grow some basil plants, which looked like this…

And that was all I got from the plant. The basil plants didn’t grow much taller than that and have since died.

There are multiple reasons why I think my plant died. It could be from the bugs that have been infesting my plants. I also wonder if it is because I didn’t plant it correctly or water it as frequently as I thought it should be. I also wondered if the height of the Herb Rocket played a role in the poor growth of it. (It is taller than the pictures on the side of the box depicted it could be!) Or it could be all these thing and some more problems I don’t even know about.

To be honest, I didn’t have much hope for the Herb Rocket. Since I found it at the Dollar Tree, it wasn’t very expensive. (It was $1.25 USD) I usually see plants in a you-get-what-you-paid-for sort of way. Since it was so inexpensive, I didn’t think it would work as well as I hoped. When I was proven right, it did make me sad. Even though I didn’t have much hope for it, I still wanted it to grow and produce healthy plants.

I have plans to continue searching for new basil plants. I have seeds that I can plant to make basil plants, but I am also shopping around to see if I can find a basil plant. I want to take my time in searching and researching before I commit to a replacement for my Herb Rocket Basil plants.

That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
