5 Reasons I Love (and 5 Reasons Why I Hate) This Month in Arizona- March

It’s March and it’s time for spring to begin! Even though spring begins in the latter half of March (AKA spring solstice), there are so many things to be happy and excited for. Here in Arizona, I love the month of March. It is the time when the weather is still really nice. Flowers are also in bloom and the excitement for Easter is building. Even though I love this month, I also despise, even hate, parts of this month.

Continuing a series of posts I started in January, I compiled a list of five reasons why I love the month of March in Arizona and five reasons why I hate it. You can read the other posts in the series here:

Here are the five reasons I love the month of March in Arizona…

1. Wildflowers are starting to bloom!
2. The temperatures are getting warmer, but it’s still really pleasant.
3. Plenty of road trip destinations for spring break.
4. There are still festivals, fairs, and more events going on this month.
5. The weather is still really nice to hike in.

And here are fiver reasons I hate this month in Arizona…

1. Pollen and allergies are a major issue.
2. The weather is shifting, which means the winds pick up.
3. Since Arizona has such nice weather during spring break time, certain road trip designations can become very crowded.
4. Like with other states with party destinations, Arizona can become a hot spot for partiers on spring break and on holidays such as St. Patrick’s Day.
5. There are a lot of people visiting the area due to spring training and other events that are happening in the state. This means more traffic.

Before I forget, I wanted to add another reason why I hate this month in Arizona:

6. All the animals that were in hibernation are now waking up. This means snakes and other wildlife will be awake and   active. So be careful when you’re hiking or walking. Especially on desert trails!
