Things I am Looking Forward to This Holiday Season- 2021
December 1, 2021
Happy December and the first day of Blogmas! I’m very excited to write new Blogmas posts every day for the next 25 days. I hope nothing goes wrong with the publishing posts and I can finish writing all the posts I wanted to this month!
Since this is my first post for Blogmas 2021, I wanted to talk about the things I’m looking forward this holiday season. The holidays this year is going to be different for me than in previous years due to changes in my life. I don’t want to talk about these life changes in this post, but there are things I can talk about. So, without further ado, here are the things I’m looking forward to this holiday season!
Christmas Light Parades
Last year, there were no Christmas parades in my area. Nearby towns had a variation of a parade called a drive by parade where viewers of the parade would drive (or walk) by the parade floats, but it wasn’t the same as the normal light parades. This year, light parades are not only supposed to return to may local town, but it is an actual parade instead of a drive by parade. I’m quite excited to see this and the floats this year.
Light parades are not the only lighted Christmas events I’m looking forward to going to, but I’m also looking forward to the Christmas lights that decorate the homes near where I live. A few years ago, I drove around the nearby town to see homes decorated for Christmas and other Christmas lights. I didn’t do it last year because of the pandemic, but I would like to try to do it this year.
Last year, I didn’t do much cooking for the holidays. This made me sad because I hoped I would have the time and ability to do it in 2020. This year, I’m excited to cook. I’m not sure if I will get everything I want to cook made in December (Especially since I think I will get tired of eating sugar cookies and other sweets) but I hope I can make at least one special desert this month and holiday season.
Seeing a Christmas Play or Show
It’s been a while since I saw a Christmas play or show but I would like to change that in 2021. I would like to see a performance of The Nutcracker, a Christmas concert, a local theater’s Christmas play, or something else Christmas oriented. Realistically, I need to make a decision to attend one show because I may be busy during the holidays. Despite this, I hope to go to one. If I can’t, I’ll be disappointed, but then again it’s the second Christmas since the pandemic started, so I’m not going to be that upset.
Watch a Christmas Movie in a Movie Theater
On the topic of things I want to do but realistically may not is going to a movie theater and watch a Christmas movie. A local movie theater chain likes to show Christmas movies in theaters as it gets closer to Christmas. I wanted to watch them, but I didn’t do it last year because of the pandemic. This year I hope to go to the theater and watch one of these movies. The thing is I don’t know if I will ultimately go. It depends on if there will be a movie I would like to watch and if my friends are able to go as well.
Seeing My Friends
The last thing I’m looking forward to is seeing my friends. I always try to see them every year near Christmas time (Or before then if they have a busy holiday schedule) but last year I couldn’t because of the pandemic. I missed them very much, so this year I plan on seeing as many of my friends as I can.
