Movies I’m Excited to See- Fall/Winter 2021

After a year of the pandemic, movies I really wanted to watch are now coming out in movie theaters! Right now I’m trying to be picky about the places I go, when I go, where I go, and why I want to go. This decision is due to worries about the pandemic, as well as my attempt to not stay out late because of my day job. Going to see movies is one of the places I feel comfortable to go to.

After looking at the movie theater listings for new movies, I found four movies I want to see in the movie theater. I might change my mind about seeing the movies in the theater, but right now I’m pretty sure I want to see these four movies when they are available to watch in the movie theater.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

As of the publishing of this post, Shang-Chi is already in movie theaters, (It was released September 3, 2021) so I don’t know if I will have the chance to go to see it opening weekend. Still, I want to see it. It’s a Marvel Studios movie and Shang-Chi will be the first Marvel Studios movie I will see in theaters since Avengers: Infinity War. I like the plot, the trailers peaked my interest, and it could be a pretty good movie to watch for my first return to the movie theater since the start of the pandemic.

No Time to Die

No Time to Die is the 20th James Bond movie and the last movie Daniel Crag will play Bond. It is also a movie I’ve waited for since it’s announcement in 2019. It premieres in theaters October 8, 2021 so I don’t mind waiting until it comes out, but I am excited to see this movie in a theater for a different reason: It will be the first time I ever watched a Bond film in the movie theater. Usually I wait for the movies to be released on DVD, but in 2019 I decided to watch it in a movie theater first. So, I’m going to need to be patient a few more weeks before I can finally see it. I just hope it lives up to my expectations.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife

Ghostbusters: Afterlife was a movie I went back and forth about watching. I watched the 2016 Ghostbusters movie and it was…. um… well, it was ok enough for me to watch it from start to finish. It could have been better (A lot better) but it did make me laugh… which wasn’t easy to do at that time in my life. When I heard Ghostbuster: Afterlife would be coming out in June 2020, I was interested in watching, but I was a little worried it would a very serious movie. I hope not because the original movies are more lighthearted than serious. So, I’ll need to think about going to see it when it comes out in theaters. It will be released in theaters November 11, 2021.

Encanto

Encanto is a Disney movie, but I don’t know much about it. The plot sounds cute so it could be a great family movie to watch near Thanksgiving. It will be released in theaters November 24, 2021.

West Side Story

The final movie I want to see in the movie theater is West Side Story. It is directed by Steven Spielberg, which is why I’m so curious about the movie. Spielberg is not a director of musicals, so I’m not sure if I will like the movie as much as the original movie. That doesn’t mean it won’t be a good movie. Just different. As long as it’s not like the 2019 movie version of Cats, I’m not going to complain very much. It will be released in theaters December 10, 2021.

Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
