Problems Finding Beauty Products & The State of My Beauty Collection- August 2019
A while ago (Last year if I’m remembering right) someone I knew offline found and read this blog. After reading my haul posts, they made comments to me about how much money I make as well as how I spend it. What they said stuck with me and, since I’m trying to write more personal posts to balance my lifestyle posts, I wanted to talk about some of the comments in a series of blog posts.
To start my new post series, I wanted to talk about why I purchased so much beauty products since I started this blog as well as the state of my beauty collection today.
When the person I knew commented about how many beauty items I purchased and discussed on my blog, it made me look at everything I purchased with a new set of eyes. I knew I purchased a lot of items, but I also knew I needed them. The last time I invested money into make up, skin care, or fragrances was 2012 before I abruptly stopped. Back then I lost the motivation to find new beauty products because I loved everything I owned. When I started this blog in 2017, I realized most of the products either ran out or expired. Because of this, I needed to find new products to replace all the products I couldn’t use anymore. And that’s when I faced some serious problems.
So much time has passed since I really dove into finding beauty products that worked for me, some products are no longer being made, the formulas changed, or they are no longer available in the area I live. This means I needed to search for new products to try out that I could obtain where I live. When I started my blog, I could find everything I needed where I live, but so many stores near where I live either closed or stopped carrying the beauty items I wanted and needed it became a struggle to find anything I wanted. So, I tried more beauty products from stores near where I live to find alternatives.
After doing this for a few years, I can finally say I’m very pleased with my current beauty collection. I have lipsticks, lip glosses, blushes, foundation, and eye shadow I love as well as cleansers and other skin care items I use on a daily basis. I’m also in the process of replacing all the fragrances I loved but ran out of and added new fragrances. While I do want some other make up items and fragrances (I wrote a make up wish list as well as a fragrance wish list for 2019), I’m not in a hurry to buy them. I would rather use what I already own and enjoy them.
Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
