Tru Fragrance’s Love and Lyrics Eau de Parfum Review

Recently, while preparing posts for publishing, I found a yet-to-be published review post about a fragrance I used to really love to wear. I purchased a new bottle of it a few years ago, but I never reviewed it on this blog.

A few months ago, I decided to write a review post about this fragrance, but tabled it for variety of reasons. One of them is because the name of the fragrance is Love & Lyrics. To be honest, I’m tired of hearing anything that has to do with Taylor Swift that I didn’t want to give any attention to anything that reminded me of her… which is now harder to do than ever before. Especially since most of the places I like to shop have some sort of a Taylor Swift engagement announcement party thing going on. (I’m glad she is getting married and I know her fans are excited, but really?)

Anyway, despite my annoyances of anything that has to do with Taylor Swift, I (frustratingly) have similarities to her. Such as my love of music, writing music, and performing music. Although this wasn’t known about me growing up, I really loved music. I wanted to write music, perform music, and planned to pursue music as a major in college. Even though my likes have changed over the years, I still love listening to music, playing music, and self studying anything that has to do with music.

This is why I was drawn to Tru Western’s fragrance Love & Lyrics. When I found the fragrance at a Western store over ten years ago, I thought the name was cute and the scent notes looked like something I would like. Since then it became one of my favorite non luxury brand fragrances. Sadly, the Western store I bought my first bottle at has closed, so I thought I would never be able to find it again. Much to my surprise, I found it available on Amazon. Since it is now so easy to find, I purchased another bottle.

Before I review the fragrance, I want to show what the bottle and the box it comes in looks like.

This is what the front of the box looks like…

This is what the side of the box looks like…

The words on the side of the box say…

Where words fail, music speaks

The other side of the box says the scent notes included in the fragrance…

And finally, this is what the bottle looks like next to the box…

The description of the fragrance on Amazon says…

  • Bright Song: Fresh and eau so addictive, this flowing melody of notes opens with a vibrant blend of raspberry and bright peach, wrapped in a delicate pink lady apple blossom.

  • Soft & Enchanting: Threads of soft, creamy sandalwood compliment the fruity notes creating a lasting impression as they dance among touches of enchanting raw vanilla.

  • Love & Lyrics Collection: When words fail, music speaks, and this perfume’s song speaks volumes. Love & Lyrics perfume for women has a delectably feminine scent. Use in place of your usual body spray for women.

  • Soft Scent: With a refreshingly gentle scent, this women’s eau de parfum is a perfect complement to your body wash and perfect for any occasion.

I want to mention that I wrote a review post the sister fragrance to Love & Lyrics called Love & Lyrics Crush. You can read the post here.

When I smelled Love & Lyrics for the first time, I loved it. At that time, I had problems finding a new fruity fragrance that wasn’t discontinued. I really love fruity fragrances, but in the 2010’s, I began to have problems finding them. Love & Lyrics was the first new fragrance that had the fruity scent notes I wanted.

Today, I still love the fragrance. The apple is both sweet and fruity without overpowering the raspberry and peach notes. The creamy sandalwood blends very well with the vanilla scent notes. As the fragrance wears, the complexity of the scent notes becomes clear, making it a fruity feminine fragrance that isn’t for teens, but also for adults.

I highly recommend this fragrance to anyone looking for a fruity fragrance reminiscent of the kind found in the 2000’s. I also recommend it to anyone looking for a fruity fragrance that would work well for adults as well as teens. It lasts over 4 hours on my skin without needing to be reapplied. It is also a pretty affordable fragrance compared to luxury brand ones.

That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
