5 Plants I Want to Grow But Haven’t Been Able to Yet
It’s spring, which is the ideal time to begin to grow new plants. So far I’ve failed in growing all but two plants: An amaryllis bulb and a decorative cactus. I think my ability to grow these two plants is a major success for me. The cactus turns three this year and the amaryllis is 16 years old! Even though these plants are still alive and growing, I have failed in growing other plants.
Right now I’m trying another round of plant growing and so far I’ve been more successful than in a previous attempt. Even though it is doing well, I still wish I could grow certain plants in my home. Since I’m in the process of trying to grow plants again, I decided to list five of my top plants I want to grow but haven’t been able to yet.
Roses
I can’t tell you how badly I want to grow roses! I’ve tried for two straight years to grow roses, but failed. After my two failed attempts, I’m seriously considering taking a year off growing them to focus on my current plants. Still, I want to grow roses sometime in the future.
Basil
I’ve tried to grow basil last year, but failed. Then I purchased a basil plant at Walmart to grow, but it had bugs in the soil that killed it. This year I’m trying to grow the basil from seeds again and everything looks like it is doing well. I just hope it stays that way!
Cherry Trees
Growing a cherry tree is a newer addition to my list of to-grow plants, but it is one I am passionate about. Right now I don’t have the ability to grow one, nor the knowledge to care for one, but I am hopeful someday in the future I will.
Lavender
I love the smell of lavender and wanted to grow it for many years. Yet, I don’t have the ability to right now. Still, I keep thinking about it every time I walk by the lavender in the garden department of Walmart!
Spinach
Yes. You read that right. Spinach. One day I want to grow spinach. I sometimes eat sautéed spinach for meatless pasta dishes. Other than that I’m not a huge fan of spinach. Yet, after years of eating my meatless pasta dishes, I realized I love the way spinach tastes if it is home grown than the kind I find in the stores. This is why I want to grow spinach. Still, I don’t use spinach enough to feel justified in growing some for myself. This is why I keep putting off planting and growing it.
That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
