Temperatures are warming up, which means it the time to wear summer appropriate clothes! I live in Arizona, where temperatures can reach well over 100 degrees Ferenhegt (). Some places temperatures can reach over 115 degrees! This means it is extra important to dress for the weather.

Over the years, I started to notice some go-to fashion pieces during the summer. Some of these fashion pieces are normally associated with summer, such as sandals, but there are some things I don’t think are common for other people. Still, I really enjoy wearing them and often associate them with the summer months.

For this post, I wanted to list six summer fashion essentials I normally wear. There are a few more, but generally speaking, these six are my go-to staples in my summertime wardrobe.

Sandals

Sandals are a staple for summertime fashion for many people, myself included! I prefer to wear sandals that have a thick sole to them. This why, I can walk on hot pavement and not feel the heat from it so easily. Also, I live in a rural area of Arizona. Stickers and thorns from desert vegetation is a major concern. Wearing sandals, and shoes in general, with a thick sole is an important way of avoiding hurting the feet while walking outside!

 

Graphic T-Shirts

I like to wear graphic t-shirts year round, but commonly associate wearing them during the summertime. The summer is hot, so wearing an oversized shirt is a great way of keeping cool and covering up. Also, I really enjoy the graphics on the shirts! Thanks to the internet and small business owners, there are so many shirts to pick from!

 

Denim Shorts

I like to wear shorts year round, but during the summertime I like to wear denim shorts. They keep me cool (Because they are shorts) yet they make an outfit look more put together than other types of shorts.

 

Denim Capris

I love the way denim capris look. It reminds me of the 1950’s and rockabilly fashion. I like to dress this way at casual gatherings, which is why denim capris are staple in my wardrobe.

 

Hat With a Large Brim

In the hot days of summer, a hat with a large brim is a must for me. Large brim hats give more shade around the face and body in general. I personally enjoy wearing sun hats as well as cowboy hats. Since I live in a rural area with cattle ranches near by, wearing a cowboy hat isn’t that out of place. Yet, when I go to the city or somewhere further away from my home, I normally switch to a sun hat.

 

Sunglasses

Sunglasses are a staple in my wardrobe and have been since I was a teenager. I have worn prescription glasses since elementary school, but as an adult I started to wear prescription sunglasses. Over the years, I noticed my prescription glasses also provide my eyes with sun protection as well as allowing myself to see clearly! For this reason, as well as personal reasons, I prefer to use dark sunglasses instead of lighter shaded ones. This goes the same for any non prescription sunglasses I also use.
