Hollister Free Wave for Her Fragrance Review

When I was a teenager, I used to love the fragrances sold exclusively in Hollister. They were fresh, youthful, and smelled perfect on me. As I got older, I didn’t shop at Hollister as much, but my love for the fragrances continued.

During a shopping trip to my closest Marshall’s, I found Hollister fragrances for sale. At that time, I forgot the name of most of my favorite Hollister fragrances and which ones are no longer available. Despite this, I began to look at the Hollister fragrances Marshall’s had for sale to see if one of the names jogged my memory. One of the fragrances, Free Wave for Her, seemed to jog my memory enough that I decided to buy it.

After owning the fragrance for a while, I decided to write a review post about it.

Before I talk about my opinions about the fragrance, this is what the fragrance and the box it came in look like…

Fragranctica.com description of the perfume is…

Free Wave For Her by Hollister is a Chypre Fruity fragrance for women. Free Wave For Her was launched in 2018. The nose behind this fragrance is Gino Percontino. Top notes are Blackberry, Agave nectar and Mandarin Orange; middle notes are Water Lily, Apple Blossom and Orchid; base notes are Moss, Ambroxan and Patchouli.

Free Wave for Her is the kind of fragrance I would’ve liked as a teenager and in my early 20’s. Even though the fragrance was released in 2018, it has some of the same fragrance notes I liked back then. They include citrus and floral. Today, I like it a lot.
The fragrance has a really nice blend of fragrance notes that makes it great for the spring and summer time. The scent reminds me of summer time on a California beach sounded by blooming flowers and summertime citrus. I really like to wear the scent in the spring and summertime. It is light and fresh enough to not overpower me, but it also works well with the oils in my skin, causing the fragrance notes to smell more natural.
It is an Eau de Parfume, which means it is the strongest version available. Since I purchased this fragrance at Marshall’s and not directly from Hollister, I don’t believe there is a lighter toilet version. (Searches on the internet has also confirmed this as well) Eau de Parfumes are stronger, so they last longer on the skin. Whenever I wore the fragrance, it stayed on the skin over three hours. The top scent notes lasted about an hour, then the middle notes lasted an hour, and the base notes lasted an hour as well. Even though I noticed the notes faded in about three hours, the middle and base notes lasted much longer if I put my wrist, which is the part of my body I applied the fragrance to, to my nose to smell if it is still there, I could smell them longer than the hour I said they lasted. When I smelled my wrist to see if the scent faded, the middle note and base notes lasted over an hour and half for each scent level.

I highly recommend this fragrance. If you are looking for a scent that is great for spring and summertime and reminds you of a California beach day, then try it out. I cannot find it currently available at Hollister, so I think the best place to purchase it is from Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, or another store that sells older stock of fragrances.

Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
