Urban Decay Naked Wild West Pallet Review

In 2021, I really wanted to purchase the Urban Decay Naked Wild West eye shadow pallet. It was brand new and I really liked the idea of an eye shadow pallet inspired by the Southwestern United States. It also really helped I live in the Southwestern United States! After the release of the pallet, it sold out in the area where I live. I had to wait a few months before the pallet was available again. When it was back in stock, I purchased the pallet and began to use it. After using it, I wanted to write a review about it, but couldn’t find the time to do it. Recently, I had the time to sit down and write a long overdue review about it.

Before I talk about the eye shadows, I wanted to talk about the packaging. This is what the box looks like…

And the back…

The box has gold lettering and a snake skin background. The snake skin is in the same colors the pallet have…

The lid of the pallet itself looks just like the box, except the snakeskin is metallic and shines when moved…

When opened, the pallet has twelve eye shadow colors, a mirror in the lid, and a double sided brush…

The pallet has eight matte colors and four metallic colors.

Here is a close up of the double ended brush…

One end of the brush (The left side of the brush in the photograph) is for picking up the eye shadow and applying while the other side (The right side in the photograph) is a crease brush and can be used for blending.

The eye shadow colors in the pallet are very pretty. They look like colors found in the desert, including turquoise, which could be inspired by a stone named turquoise found naturally in the Southwestern United States. The shades work well together and can be easily mixed and matched with other colors as well. The eye shadows themselves are very pigmented and blend easily. Also, there isn’t fallout from the eye shadow.

The brush is a pretty good brush. The bristles are packed very well and pick up the eye shadows in the pallet without problems. The crease/blending side of the brush is also good at blending the eye shadow. It is stiff and grab eye shadow product and blends it well. The brush is not as good as some of my other brushes, which are high end makeup brushes, but it is a still extremely good quality brush to include with an eye shadow pallet.

I recommend this pallet to anyone looking for a unique eye shadow pallet. It does have a high price point (It was between $45-$56 USD when I purchased it in 2021) but the quality not only of the eye shadows but also the brush it comes with is reflective of the price. If the price worries you, make sure you can use at least half the colors in the pallet on a regular basis before purchasing it. That way you can use the pallet more frequently and get maximum use out of it.

Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
