July has already passed, but I still wanted to talk about the books I read. I didn’t have the time to read a lot of books, but I was able to read three. I enjoyed reading, or rereading in the case of one book, them. Unfortunately, I didn’t finish them all, but I still wanted to write a post about all the books I read last month.
Gossip Girl by Cecily Von Ziegesar
I read the Gossip Girl series in the late 2000’s and, at the time, I thought they were an ok series. Recently, I found a copy of the first book in the series, Gossip Girl, that I purchased to own and reread. I didn’t feel like reading other books I own, so I began to reread the book. Since I forgot most of the book except for a few key moments, rereading the book has reminded me how crazy and lavish the lives of the characters are.
Beneath The Glitter: A Novel by Elle & Blair Fowler
Like with Gossip Girl, I read Beneath The Glitter years ago but forgot most of it. The book is about two sisters who became huge starts on social media and their struggles living with their new found fame and their new home in Los Angeles, California. Rereading the book reminded me of the beginning days of YouTubers and influencers becoming stars in their own right. I’m still in the process of reading it, but I was surprised I remembered more of the book than I originally thought I did.
Illustrated World of Couture by Megan Hess
I wanted to buy new coffee table art books and read them, but the only one I was able to buy and read all the way through is Illustrated World of Couture by Megan Hess. The book is about couture fashion and talks about many elements of the couture fashion industry. I really enjoyed reading it and Megan’s illustrations are so beautiful. I’m very happy I own it.
