Dior Capture Youth Age-Delay Advanced Creme Review

Last year, after a weather change, I began to experience very dry skin. I normally don’t have this problem, but after recovering from a serious antibiotic resistant infection, I noticed my body is changing in many great ways, and in other not so great ways. Including my skin needing more moisturizer. I knew my skin would eventually need more moisturizers that I usually use, but I didn’t know how badly it would effect my face skin!

After raiding my samples from Sephora and Macy’s, I found a sample tube of Dior Capture Youth Age-Delay Advanced Creme. Ever since my infection, I need to be careful what kinds of skincare products I can put on my face and skin in general. For the most part, I cannot put skin care products that are not hypoallergenic. After doing some research, I discovered that this cream is advertised as hypoallergenic and would work for my skin. So I gave it a try.

After using it for almost a week, I decided to buy the full sized version of the creme. I ultimately purchased the 2019 gift set that included the full sized version of the creme, two serums to use with the creme, and a pouch. After using the full sized version of the creme, without the serums, I learned a few things about the creme that I wanted to share. Before I go into how the creme worked and my thoughts on it, I wanted to talk about the creme itself as well as the jar and packaging it comes in.

The creme comes in a jar that is packaged inside a box…

The jar the creme is held in is light pink with silver accents that are so shinny they have a mirror or chrome look to them…

The top of the jar is the most mirror-like part of the packaging. It is completely reflective and has the word Dior written on top…

After opening the jar, there is a little plastic topper to protect the creme. The topper has a little pull tab to make it easy to remove…

Once the topper is removed, the creme looks like this in the jar…

The creme is light weight and I find it absorbs into my skin very easily. It doesn’t clog my pores very easily and moisturizes my skin very well. Although I do not plan to use this creme year round (As per my doctor’s instructions), I really enjoy it. Although it is very luxurious and cost quite a bit, especially when compared to my Burt’s Bees sensitive skin moisturizers, I believe the creme works extremely well and it’s worth paying the price for it.

Although I love this creme, I do have two main complaints. The first is the price tag. One jar currently retails for $95.00 USD, which is pretty high for many people. The second is the fragrance. Although this creme does not irritate my skin and is allergy friendly, the fragrance is not allergy friendly to everyone. I like the scent and it reminds me of old skincare and beauty products from my mother, grandmother, and other women near their ages, but when my allergies are bothering me the scent does as well. It makes me sad because, although I have a fairly good tolerance to fragrances despite my allergies, others may buy this creme believing it is as hypoallergenic as it is advertised to be but finds out the fragrance bothers their allergies. Although not skincare product is perfect, I wish the creme’s fragrance was not as strong or, better yet, fragrance free.

Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
