This is the time of the year when people buy new items to use for a limited time only. Although I’m guilty of buying things and use them for a few weeks a year, there are items I purchase for use year-round because they are unavailable the rest of the year. Since this is Blogmas, I decided to share five Christmas items I purchase in order to use them year round.

Starbucks Hot Chocolate Mix

I don’t drink coffee, but I do drink hot chocolate. Although I can find hot chocolate mixes in stores year round and can make my own mix from scratch, I still love the Starbucks hot chocolate mixes the best. The only problem is the mixes come out in the fall/winter time and the biggest containers of mix are available in the Christmas food section of stores. Since I drink hot chocolate year round, I stock up on my favorite mix so I can enjoy drinking hot chocolate year round.

Christmas Themed Mugs

I love big mugs, and I always seem to find plenty during Christmas. Because of this, I like to pick up new mugs to drink out of. Plus, during after Christmas sales, I can find them for a great, discounted price. Although they are seasonally themed, I don’t mind having a holiday or Christmas themed mug to drink out of in my cabinet. I just make sure I don’t offer the holiday and Christmas mugs to any guest I have over.

Ornament Stands

I love using ornaments not just during Christmas time, but year round for seasonal decor. Ornament stands are my favorite way to display special ornaments that work for different seasons. The only problem is the stands are only available during the holiday season. So, whenever they are available, I pick up as many as I need in styles I know will look good year round.

Metallic Garland

Metallic Garland is my favorite way to add some sparkle and light to a dark area while I’m decorating. Garlands don’t come around very often, but they are widely available during the holiday season. Plus, they are also available in more colors than other times of the year.

Wrapping Paper, Bows, and Ribbon

The last item I purchase to use year round is wrapping paper, bows, and ribbons. It can be hard to find wrapping paper, bows, and ribbons year round, so I like to stock pile wrapping paper, bows, and ribbons to use throughout the year. I like to purchase the paper that are solid colors or have colorful designs that will work for a wider variety of events. Also, they are normally discounted very low after Christmas, which makes it more affordable to buy and own instead of buying them any other time of the year.
