Maybelline New York Baby Lips Dr. Rescue 55 Coral Review

I’ve been struggling with chapped lips for several months. Even though I have lip balms, my balms are old and don’t seem to work well anymore.

After giving up and throwing away my old lip balms, I began to search for new lip balms to use. I still can’t travel very far (Echos of the vehicle problems from a few months ago are still persisting) so I decided to see what my local Walmart had for sale.

That’s when I remembered an old type of lip balm I used to use called Baby Lips. The balms are by Maybelline and were priced well when I used to use them. Even though they work well, I decided to stop using them due to my health problems. Since my health problems are under control, I decided to buy some of the balms and try them again.

The first one I decided to try is Dr. Rescue in 55 Coral. Since my lips were having problems, I decided to give the medicated balm a try before I used any other other balms I purchased.

The balm looks like this when it is still in it’s packaging…

The balm has menthol in it, which is why it is called a medicated balm.

I really like this balm. I sometimes don’t like menthol, but I liked it in this balm. It was strong enough to be noticed when taking the top off the balm case, yet I didn’t mind it. It was an easy application and was soothing to my lips. As for the color, the balm does not have enough pigment in it to be able to visibly color the lips. Other colors in the Baby Lips line have more pigment, but they are, for the most part, quite sheer.

Even though I discontinued using Baby Lips years ago due to my health problems, Dr Rescue didn’t aggravate any of my health problems. My health problems include allergies and skin conditions, which is a major concern for me. (This is also why I decided to get rid of my old lip balms. They were irritating my skin.) I didn’t have an allergic reaction or irritation from using it. Instead, it helped soothe my lips and made them begin to heal.

Like I said before, I really like this balm. I’m very happy I purchased it and plan on continuing to use it until I run out. It is a great option for anyone looking for a higher end lip balm, but without the high end price point. If someone is looking into this balm but is worried about the same health problems (Allergies, sensitive skin, ect.) as I am, I recommend to looking at the back of the package and read the ingredients list. I did this before purchasing it and I am glad I did.
