Things I Recently Purchased for My House and Why- January 2024

For many years, I have wanted to make improvements in my house. Despite the fact most of the improvements are not something I can do myself (I don’t have the time, energy, know how, I need more people than just me to work on it, ect.) I am focusing on all the things I can do myself. This includes purchasing new things for the house!

For this post, I wanted to stick to the things I know for a fact I am currently using and am happy with. I have other things I purchased for the house, such as a cube bookcase for my closet, but I haven’t used them or they didn’t work out the way I planned them to. So, I decided not to talk about those things in this post.

Metal Mixing Bowls with Lids

Since I started to bake bread last year, I have wondered about and considered purchasing new kitchen equipment. I already have the super expensive items, such as a mixer with a dough hook attachment, but I don’t own more than one metal mixing bowls. It was annoying to keep using the same bowl over and over again and wash it over and over again. So, I decided to buy a three piece set of stainless steel metal bowls with lids. So far each bowl has come in handy. I was really hesitant to buy more kitchen supplies, but these bowls made baking so much easier! I’m very happy I own them!

Steam Mop

I have been considering purchasing a steam mop for a few years now. I wondered if it would be easier to mop the floors with a steam mop. Recently, I purchased one. So far I had a slight learning curb to use it. (I am too used to the old way of moping floors.) Fortunately, I used this type of mop before and it is very simple to use. (Which is why I feel embarrassed to say I had a slight learning curb!) It did clean the floors really well and was easy to use. I’m also happy it disinfected the floor without chemicals!

More Paint

I need to face the facts. Painting is tedious work, but I don’t mind it a lot. What I do mind is how many layers of paint it has taken to paint some of the walls in my bathroom! I already mentioned in a different post that the paint in the bathroom was worn down pretty badly. So badly the dry wall could be seen though the paint. So, I needed to paint it badly. Still, it took at least two coats of paint to cover the walls. I don’t think I can blame the paint I used though. The paint was just warn down too much. So, I bought another gallon of paint for the bathroom. Cuz I need to put more coats in certain areas and on certain walls. Ugh.

Godinger Candy Dish in the Shape of A Hershey Kiss

I’ve seen these before in person and online. I really liked them, but I never purchased one. So, I decided to buy one for myself. They aren’t really expensive (Around the $10 to $25 USD range depending on the color of the dish and if there is a sale) so it is a frugal yet cute decor investment.

That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
