Marvel Studio’s Thor: Love and Thunder x Ulta Beauty Collection
When I found out Ulta Beauty had an exclusive beauty collection inspired by Marvel Studios’ Thor: Love and Thunder, I tried to make plans to go to my closest Ulta Beauty to see it in person. Thor has been one of my favorite Avengers since I was a kid, reading the comic books. Whenever a new film with Thor in it comes out, I try to make a point to see it and look at all the tie in items with the movie. This is why seeing the Ulta Beauty Collection in person was so important to me.
When I finally had the chance to see it, most of the products I wanted were sold out. The testers for the products were still available, so I decided to take photographs of them instead. On the day I took these photographs, I did not purchase a lot of items in the collection. I needed to buy other things that day, so I tried to focus on shopping for them instead of the things I could buy spontaneously.
I found the collection in the same end cap and section of the store as other limited edition Marvel Studios collaborations I saw, and sometimes photographed, over the years. This is what the top of the display looked like…
To me, the highlight of the collection is the eye shadow pallet. The pallets had sold out when I photographed the collection, so the only way to know the collection was there is the tester pallet, which looks like this…
The pallet is one pallet, but it can be split into two different pallets. Because of this, each pallet can be opened independently from the other. The pallets close using magnets and are joined together with magnets.
This is what the Thor pallet looked like…
I would like to mention that the Thor pallet looked like it was dropped at some point in time. Because of this, the eye shadows had shattered and was hard to move without getting eye shadow powder all over the place.
Even though the pallet shattered, the colors could still be easily seen…
The second pallet is Mighty Thor…
I don’t remember a lot about the story of the female Thor, or the comic book’s story, but I do remember Jane Foster, played by Natalie Portman, becomes the next Thor. Thor’s title and powers can change depending on who is worthy. Jane Foster is deemed worthy to be Thor, so she becomes the next title and power holder. She is also the first female to inherit Thor’s powers.
Even though I don’t remember a lot about how Jane Foster becomes Thor, I know that Marvel Studios may take creative liberties with the story. That way, Lady Thor’s (That’s what my friends and I called her when the comic books came out) story will fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe better. Because of this, I don’t know how much of the original story, or what I remember about the original story, will be accurate to the movie’s plot.
Anyway, the colors of Lady Thor, called Mighty Thor, pallet is warm toned colors…
And the pallet was not shattered.
Here is what the two pallets looked like side by side…
And the colors in both pallets…
In addition to the Thor pallets, there is a Valkyrie pallet…
This pallet was in better shape than the other two. I think people had too much fun playing with the Thor pallet and ignored the Valkyrie pallet!
The Valkyrie pallet looked like this from the inside…
And here are the colors of the pallet…
The pallet’s colors are more blue based and natural colors with a blue undertone than the Thor pallets. I personally like and use purple and cool toned eye shadows. I can see myself using this pallet more than the Thor pallets. Well, except for the two turquoise eye shadows. They could look good on my eyes, but I know I won’t use them often.
In addition to the pallets, the collection has three different brushes with the Thor: Love and War design…
On the next shelf, there were two highlighter pallets. One is called Thunder…
(I don’t know why the photograph is so blurry. I tried to edit it to be not so blurry, but it didn’t work.)
and Love…
Also, there were beauty sponges…
And lip glosses…
And eye trios. These trios had an eye liner, eye shadow crayon, and face stamper. They include God of Thunder…
Heart of Asgard…
and Star of the Cosmos…
Finally, there are two makeup bags in the collection. One of the bags had sold out, but the other one was still available. It is holographic with white lines all over it…
The zipper has the emblem of Thor’s hammer…
I really liked the bag, so I purchased it. So far, I don’t regret my purchase! It is a roomy bag and serves my needs well.
Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
