Books I Wanted to Read in 2020 But Didn’t (And Why)
It’s almost the end of 2020 and, because of the problems going on in the world, I didn’t go out much. Since I didn’t go out much, I stayed home and read more books than I normally do. Although I did make quite a few dents in my reading list, I’m still sad I didn’t get around to read more books I wanted to read in 2020.
Although I will not be able to read all the books I planned to read on my list before 2020, I wanted to make a list of all the books I planned to read this year, but didn’t and will be on the top of my reading list for 2021.
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
Since Midnight Sun was released earlier this year, I wanted to re-read the first book in the Twilight series, Twilight. I had to repurchase the book because my paperback copy isn’t in the greatest condition and I meant to repurchase it over ten years ago, but never did. I did find a paperback copy of Twilight a few months ago, but I never sat down to read it. Unfortunately, I was too busy to read much after I purchased the new copy. So, I plan on reading it in 2021.
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Like Twilight, I felt motivated to read The Hunger Games series again after A Song of Songbirds and Snakes came out earlier this year. I already own the whole series, but they are packed away and I was unable to get to the books before the end of the year. One of my goals for 2021 is to not only re-read The Hunger Games series, but to also do some very overdue cleaning while I search for the books.
A Song of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins
After starting to read A Song of Songbirds and Snakes, I realized I will need to read the original series to remind me of certain details I know I want to know before I continued reading the book. Since I couldn’t read the original series because I packed the books away, I didn’t read Songbirds and Snakes. I plan to read it after I finish reading the original series.
The Betrothed by Kiera Cass
I was very excited to hear about another book in the Selection Series universe, but I had trouble finding it in store and online. While searching for the book online, I read some pretty bad reviews about it. Because of this, I delayed buying the book. I finally did buy the book, but I didn’t get the chance to read it. So, I plan to read it in 2021.
Save the Date by Morgan Matson
Out of all the books on this list, the one that I’m the most disappointed I didn’t read this year is Save the Date by Morgan Matson. I purchased this book in 2019 as a book I planned to read but didn’t get around to reading it. It’s been a year and a half since I purchased this book and I still have yet to read it. I’m making is a priority to read it in 2021 before it’s two years since I purchased this book.
Ready Player Two by Ernest Cline
I’m super excited Ready Player One’s sequel, Ready Player Two, is now out and I happily purchased the book in-store, but I didn’t get the chance to read it this year. The reason is because Ready Player Two was released on November 24th and I didn’t have the time to read it due to being too busy during the holiday season. I’m super excited to read it in 2021.
Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
